Kibitaro — Restaurant in Tokyo

I don’t normally rate a place one star purely because of service unless the service was so bad it ruins the dining experience. The waitress at this place was very rude. She completely ignored me when I entered and asked where to be seated. It was only after I took the initiative to ignore that and purchase a ticket from the ordering machine that she acknowledged me and steered me towards a seat with barely a word. Conversely, she was very warm and friendly with Japanese patrons. Take that as you will.

The ramen was also mediocre. The chicken broth ramen lacked depth and was too salty, but overall the taste was alright. The chashu was overly fatty; with all of the pieces being more than 50% fat. The gyoza was clearly pre-cooked a while ago and was just lightly heated with the middle still cold.

What an amazing little restaurant. We went on two consecutive days for a late dinner. Luckily there was a small queue only on the second day and despite that we were sat pretty quickly. The ramen and gyoza were delicious. If the ramen wasn't such a big portion (the regular size! The large one was enough for both of us) I would have gotten more servings of gyoza on both days. Had the chicken ramen and the black shoyu ramen, both of which were excellent. No extra cover/seating charge even though we went rather late. Prices were budget friendly - less than 1.5k per person with a shared beer and gyoza. Also, the staff was very friendly and the food arrived rather quickly for a full restaurant. Will definitely visit again,...

Stopped by this place after not making it in time for the last order at Ichiran. Glad I did, not sure what all the 1 star reviews are about but the service here was great. The staff greeted us and thanked us as we left. The ramen itself was very tasty. The broth was light and the noodles were not overcooked but not too stiff. Although, I don’t think there was enough noodles. The restaurant was also very hot, I was sweating by the time I had left. Overall, the ramen shop was pretty good and I’d recommend trying it if you can’t find anywhere else...
