Kitchen ABC Ikebukuro Higashiguchi — Restaurant in Tokyo

We searched for a good Omurice place nearby, and this one came up, so we decided to try it. When we arrived around noon on Saturdays, there was already a line, but the staff were working efficiently, so we didn't have to wait long, probably around 10-15 minutes.

I ordered a tonkatsu omurice for about 1000 yen, and I added a large portion for an additional 100 yen. The rice itself was seasoned with curry, which added a nice flavor. The curry sauce was very good, and the tonkatsu was delicious. Everything else on the menu looked tempting too. I was amazed by the generous portion size, the food's quality, and the fact that it only cost 1100 yen! The service was exceptional as well. The staff kept apologizing for the wait, even though we didn't mind, which was very Japanese in nature. Despite how busy they were, the chef even took some time to chat with us. When we come back to Japan again, we will stop by to have another omurice or try other items...

Found this Japanese Western restaurant on our visit to Ikebukuro, and it did not disappoint us.

Servers were friendly and nice. I would like to commend the lady who took our order and served us, as she kept trying to understand us, although my family could not speak Japanese, and we had to speak a mix of Japanese and English before she got our order. Other servers would have just not decided to serve us at this point, so it was great that she tried her best.💪🏻👍🏻

It was great that the restaurant also had an English menu.

Food wise, it was delicious overall. The Oriental rice, hamburger and salt pork yakiniku were tasty. The portions were great, and we liked the variety of sides that came with the main course, such as spaghetti, egg and tonjiru soup. The soup especially was great, as it had a lot of ingredients. 😋

The pork Yakiniku with sauce combo was great too, and so was the crab cream croquette. It was full of crab cream, and tasted great. However, we felt the sauce could be improved. It could have been less salty.

Overall, it was a great tasty meal which tasted home cooked, and we enjoyed our meal. It was also value for money. We look forward to coming back again. Thank you!😊
