During our recent trip to Japan, we had the incredible opportunity to experience our first taste of Kobe beef at a renowned restaurant, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in an ambiance that combined elegance with warmth, setting the perfect stage for what would become a memorable dining experience.
Our server, Samghane, truly elevated the evening with his exceptional service. She took the time to explain the intricacies of Kobe beef. Her passion for the cuisine was contagious, and her detailed descriptions made us even more excited for what was to come.
When the Kobe beef arrived, it was beautifully presented, and the marbling was unlike anything we had seen before. The first bite was a revelation; the meat practically melted in our mouths, bursting with rich, buttery flavors that were complemented by a hint of sweetness. Each subsequent bite only deepened our appreciation for the artistry behind this culinary treasure.
Samghane also guided us through the various cooking methods and suggested pairings that enhanced the overall experience. Her r ecommendations were spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed the accompanying sides and sauces that perfectly complemented the beef.
Overall, our first Kobe beef experience was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of exquisite food, attentive service from Samghane, and the inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. We left the restaurant not just satisfied, but eager to share our experience with others and to return for another taste of this culinary masterpiece. If you're in Japan and looking for an exceptional dining experience, this Kobe beef restaurant should be at the top...

We went to the building for Jojo en but as we went on a valentine's day it's need booking so we went to this place which is beside it. Service was not as expected. Most of the servers are not Japanese, which should be easier to communicate with us in english, but that was not the case. They got our orders wrong, and they were debating whether we should get salad or not omg. Also they recommend us to get premium set in the pamphlet which is not in the main menu and we thought it's was a promotion or something instead we get less than what listed in the main menu (which cost less).
The food is very disappointing. We order the premium set, and when compared to our friends that order the normal set, the beef slices are exactly the same. (+/- 4000 jpy more expensive). With the price we paid 11000+ jpy. No one is full. We still need to go to a ramen place after finishing with the meal.
This is not a place I would recommend to any of my friends, the most disappointing restaurant we have been in japan (and we never go anywhere in japan that has disappointing us).
Btw, food is not even that good. I'm so sorry for the honesty, but we tried to look past it but...
Read moreWow, I can't believe I stumbled upon this amazing place in Ueno! It's like a secret spot right in the middle of all the craziness.
Okay, let me tell you about the Kobe beef - it's insane! I mean, I've had good steak before, but this was on another level. It was so tender and juicy, I think I actually closed my eyes while eating it. Seriously, if you're a meat lover, you HAVE to try this.
The restaurant itself is super nice too. It's got this cool vibe that's both Japanese and modern at the same time. And the staff? They were awesome - super friendly and helpful. They really knew their stuff about the menu.
I tried a couple of other dishes too, and they were all delicious. But honestly, that Kobe beef stole the show.
Fair warning, it's not the cheapest meal you'll have, but trust me, it's totally worth it. I'm already planning when I can go back!
If you're in Ueno and want to treat yourself to an awesome meal, definitely check this place out. Just make sure to book ahead - I have a feeling this secret won't stay...
