La Cocorico — Restaurant in Tokyo

Great food, Worst service! When this place first opened it was very nice. The atmosphere was great the food was delicious, everything was just perfect!

So I decided to make a reservation for my brother's birthday. So the day came we showed up right on time for my 5:30 pm reservation. The staff couldn't find our reservation and made us wait for 10 minutes. When we entered I was surprised to see that they're not even busy and so far we were the only customers.

As soon as we were seated our waiter just left us. 15 minutes later and still no water or drinks served, I had to stand up to personally call the waiter in the kitchen.

We ordered and yes the food was great. But then they brought a meal that we didn't order, we had to send it back. In addition we had to call the waiter to refill our glasses. I think we called them like more than 3 times. Obviously they were not attending to us. But the ironic thing is that it wasn't even busy.

This is were it gets crazy, we ordered 3 souffles. My souffle came first, after 10 minutes my friend's souffle came then after 5 my brother's(the celebrant).

The service was so terrible that I told the staff as I was paying that I made a reservation here for a special occasion and this is what you've done. No apologies, just bowing and the impression that they wanted us to just pay and leave.

On top of this dinner disaster, I saw my phone and there was a voicemail from the restaurant around 6:00 pm. The message was trying to remind me that I have a reservation.

I guess they don't really check on their diners! We were already there. I called the next day to complain to their manager and all he said was Hai, Hai(Yes, Yes) in Japanese. Just like their staff he didn't know what I was talking about and he didn't really care.

Such a shame because we really enjoyed the food. I don't care if it's expensive but if the service is this bad I wouldn't go back. I told my clients not to go this restaurant as well. Maybe their other branches have better...

I had the most wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully designed, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was absolutely impeccable, with every detail attended to with care and professionalism.

A special mention must go to Uramoto, who was by far the best and sweetest hostess we’ve ever met. Her warm smile, attentiveness, and genuine kindness made our visit truly memorable. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and it made all the difference.

As a Frenchman, I had high expectation on a rotisserie chicken.

Unfortunately, the chicken we were served was not bad...but nowhere close to the crispy, mouth-watering piece of chicken I was picturing. My guess is the poultry are not roasted long enough and not through the traditional roasting spit we see in Europe. Plus, what a disappointment to be served rice with roasted chicken...shouldn't it be savory, almost caramelized potatoes?
