I understand why Ningen is often cited for their friendly staff. While staying in Shinjuku, I'd had my eye on Ningen for a couple days due to their veg/vegan offerings. My last day ran late and I arrived after the kitchen was closed. So, I resigned myself to having a drink and finding a midnight spot elsewhere.
Their house infused spirits caught my eye and were very tasty.
Eventually all the staff were engaged in conversations with the bar top patrons, and the chef heard my plight about missing last order and whipped me up a quick vegan bibimbap. Delicious and hit the spot.
By night's end I felt I had experienced the true hospitality of Tokyo and I can't wait to come back to hit up...

We wanted a bar that felt “in it” but without feeling as though our presence would ruin the vibe of the place, we found that fully here. We came in for a quick bite to eat, we are vegetarian and they have a vegetarian menu available. All the food we ordered was so delicious we ordered seconds, alongside a few highballs. We were more than welcome to play cards and have a cigarette. The staff were super friendly too! If we had more time in Tokyo/Shinjuku we would definitely return....

Met with the workers smoking in your face inside and next to our table. Very rude and unprofessional. The menu stated we could split the bill but was told rudely that we had to pay as a group. Left immediately after that sort of awful service. Weird naked legs on the stairs and creepy dolls. Dodgy place and would avoid at all cost. Recommend the curry house...
