I had three meals here for my holiday. My first meal was definitely one of the worst out of the three. The server we had was somewhat negligent and he wouldn’t even come when we asked him over and we would just watch him stand with his colleagues talking on the side even though we made direct eye contact with him with our hands waving and asking for his help, he would also cut us off when we didn’t even finish ordering. Also I think that the man didn’t even want to serve us in the first place, because he wouldn’t come to our table when we asked. I think he only came to our table two times; to take our order, and when we asked for water. The other servers had served us more than him. I understand that it might have stressful and busy, but I don’t think it was so stressful that you had to take break and ask others to serve when you are the main server. I would also like to mention the small water cups. I had to ask for water so many times. I don’t understand why they have such small cups, did they steal them from a pee test facility that made them with glass? I think the average person would take four sips and there was no more water. It might sound like we were “leeching off” the water, but we ordered drinks other than water and it came in the same cups. When I ordered and paid for those drinks I thought I would have larger cups considering the water was free but the drinks weren’t but I was wrong. I’m not sure if he was purposely being rude but it definitely seemed like it. I sort of felt like a dog waiting for its owner to come back to a dog park. I do want to clarify that it was that ONE waiter that tarnished my experience for this restaurant. The other servers were alright. I understand that I don’t speak Japanese so it is hard for both parties to communicate in the first place, but I think that you should still try to come over when asked instead of talking. The food we had that day was mediocre. It wasn’t “I would never come here on my own free will unless I’m in danger and if I do send help” or the best tasting food I will ever have, and the ONLY reason we came three times was because the other places in the area had no more space and it was our last resort that was closest to our hotel and was close enough for my handicapped father to walk to without being in pain. The restaurant has an ok atmosphere, and what I mean by that is that it was clean. However, I do think that it is a somewhat good restaurant for people who speak Japanese but maybe not the best for those who speak...
Read moreTokyo resident, ate here over the weekend while passing by Imperial Hotel. Was craving a hotel quality Western meal but this menu was VERY below expectation for the price. English-speaking guests may feel misled by the menu. Sandwiches are advertised with a photo of toasted club sandwich w/fries and onion rings. The double-decker sandwich was ordered, but came only with potato chips. Potato chips with a 2,500 yen menu item?? The menu did not say anywhere what sides would accompany the sandwich items, or that double decker would be untoasted white bread with crusts cut off. This was very disappointing. The table next to us ordered the hamburg steak and it looked tiny and the diners were not very excited about the meat.
Be very careful with the menu at this place: explanations are not clear, and with all items at 2,500 or 3,000 yen, value is NOT what is expected. You can get much better western food for 1,200-1,500 yen at various chains in Atre or other station locations. Imperial Hotel should be embarrassed to serve this kind of food under...
Read more(English below)
I had the "Chef Snoopy" course at Parkside Diner in the Imperial Hotel after checking out from my stay with the "GRAND CHEF SNOOPY plan" the night before.
The course menu was as follows:
Chef Snoopy Bread Chef Snoopy's Soup of the Day Fluffy Andy's Fish Mousse Olaf's Beef Katsu Sandwich Plate Traveling Brothers Orange and Royal Milk Tea Parfait Upon entering, I was smoothly guided to my table where I was greeted by a large Chef Snoopy plush toy. Positioned at the back of the dining area, it had quite a presence. The table setting was also in line with the theme, featuring an array of Snoopy characters. The intricate details of the small items were very cute. When I opened the menu, I even found Chef Snoopy's business card inside. The Peanuts characters were incorporated everywhere, from the tablecloth and napkins to the coasters and cutlery rests, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. It felt like stepping into the world of Peanuts, a truly extraordinary experience.
Each dish faithfully recreated the Snoopy characters, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. It was a very satisfying meal.
The service staff were all very kind and provided detailed explanations of the dishes. They even surprised me with an anniversary plate for dessert and happily took commemorative photos, creating a truly memorable experience.
Breakfast was also part of the Snoopy plan, with a picnic-themed spread that was quite voluminous. I was incredibly full. The Imperial Hotel's character collaborations are top-notch, and I would love to revisit when they offer new plans...
