It's a tiny shop on the 3rd floor, no elevator. I went around noon on a weekday and was seated immediately. The place has fans but is not air-conditioned, but in my opinion it makes the kakigori 10 times more delicious. The ladies are super nice and welcoming. They have many unique flavors. Check their Instagram for seasonal flavors. I wiah I could try them all. I had the soy bean mochi gori. The shaved ice is topped with red beans and super soft stretchy mochi that melts in the mouth. Then it's dusted with roasted soybean powder. It's also layered with yummy crumbled toasted sesame cookies which I wish they added a bit more of it. The whole thing is not too sweet. They serve it with extra matcha sauce and brown sugar sauce. I added only the matcha as I didn't need the extra sweetness from the brown sugar. Only downside is that it's a bit overpriced. Also I wish they allowed sharing or at least limit it to...
Read moreSimply amazing kakigori. I've had the Blueberry Pie shaved ice (ブルーベリーパイのかき氷).
Its ice was fluffy, topped with blueberry sauce, rich custard, crispy buttery pie flakes and blueberries. Combined, it was a perfect dessert for a day out, and large enough to be shared.
The kakigori came with a small container of fig vinegar. The server's recommendation was to pour it on the dessert when it's half done, to transform its taste. I did that and its taste did change, with a hint of tangy-ness making it even a more refreshing experience.
Location is on the 3rd floor (with ground as 1st) and it's up a narrow staircase. The shop itself is small, with roughly 10 seats in total.
Be prepared for a long queue on a narrow staircase.
Nevertheless, I would visit again in my next trip. Pro tip: check their Instagram page as they would have seasonal, time-limited flavours available...
Read moreEdit: I came back for the seasonal 'Chai Butternut' shaved ice (a limited secret menu item - check their Instagram for the latest) and oh my goodness, it was incredible. Every part of the dessert tasted amazing and it all went so well together (chai espuma, butternut squash sauce, drizzled with burnt caramel, and with spiced apples in the centre). The taste of autumn. Incredible!
Original review: I came on what is hopefully the last super hot day of the year (34 degrees in late September, yikes!) and the strawberry pistachio shaved ice was super delicious and refreshing, especially the topping. There are fillings inside the ice so you always have flavour in every bite. Can't wait to come back and try a seasonal limited flavour in future (check their Instagram - this time it was fig,...
