What was supposed to be a quick meal was one of the worst experiences I have had in Japan over last 3 weeks. A friend and I ordered a large pizza and salad to share and a few drinks. We were greeted by a lovely female waitress and seated, but unfortunately that's as good as it got! The male waiter we had was rude and unnecessarily heavy handed... perhaps we became accustomed to the politeness and grace of the Japanese in other establishments. The drinks and salad, if you would call a few pieces of rocket 6 baby tomatoes and few slivers of cheese a salad, came out pretty quick. The pizza however, come out over half hour later. Watching the pizza chef, he had only made 2 pizzas prior to ours, so was a little confused as to why it took so long to make! The pizza dough was delicious but unfortunately the simple margarita pizza ordered was super soggy and unfortunately ruined the what was a great dough. I had watched the waiter take bills to other tables during our wait for the food, when we asked for the bill, the waiter pointed to the bar and said go pay there. I asked if we can get the bill and he just rudely pointed said pay there. Not a great experience and would really like to understand why he was so rude?! A little overpriced for what we had (¥66,000) considering we had lack of service and long wait. Maybe we arrived at this restaurant not at a great time but I would not recommend considering other venues will always provide a...
Read moreThe most delicious pizza in the world. I'm not even kidding. I had pizzas in Brazil, US, UK, all over Europe (even in Italy) and none get even close to Salvatore's four cheese pizza. I lived in Japan 5 years and would eat at my local Nagatacho branch at least once a month. It would be the first thing I would eat after a long flight coming back to Tokyo. But not once I bothered leaving a review. I don't know why, I guess I just took it for granted. Then today I really missed the taste of that incredible Salvatore pizza and decided to leave a (very overdue) review... Just to find out my local branch closed down! That kinda made me really sad... But then I remembered I used to order Salvatore delivery and it would always come from Yotsuya branch so I thought I would leave (finally!) my humble review of this most delicious pizza. Thank you Salvatore for all those amazing pizzas and for spoiling my taste in pizza forever (in the best...
Read moreI used to spend several weeks per year in the Naples Italy area, for work. I began to love the Naples style pizza. I believe it is the perfect pizza, if properly made. Salvatore uses a wood fired pizza oven, uses fresh dough, uses fresh ingredients. One thing missing is buffalo mozzerella. Salvatore should work with local farmers to obtain real Buffalo milk, and make real Buffalo mozzarella cheese. Basically, the pizza was good. A bit expensive, but tasty. Our oyster pasta had large delicious oysters in it. Tasty but a bit expensive. We asked that our pizza be “light done” = no black parts since some people say burnt food is one cause of pancreatic cancer. As you can see in the pictures, the pizza was almost free of black parts, but there were some...
