Pizzeria Doro Shimbashi — Restaurant in Tokyo

Needed some comfort food for my 10 year old daughter who is a little picky with her food. The pizza was a pretty standard Sicilian style pizza without the Japanese additions like corn or eggs. We got a Quattro Formaggio and a prosciutto pizza. Each around 2000¥. We were impressed with the quality and flavor. The server suggested we put honey on the cheese which was an odd suggestion initially but "when in Rome..." It was actually pretty novel. A good sweet and salty combo. We found this restaurant on our final night in Japan - and what a great spot. As Aussies travelling Japan, we had officially hit our ramen limit (shocked to find we had one!) and we were looking for a different cuisine to Japanese. We were lucky to score one of the last walk in tables around 6pm and it seemed most others had a booking as we saw a lot turned away. My wife is Italian so we love our Italian food – this restaurant was great and well above our expectations! We ordered the house appetizers and we were pleasantly surprised to receive an authentic, Sicilian style set of starters: caponata, octopus salad, carpaccio and sarde alla Messinese (a real speciality from my wife's birthplace).
