RU-TEN — Restaurant in Tokyo

This popular Chinese restaurant is a local favorite in the area, often drawing long lines during lunch hours. Tonight, we came here for a farewell party for a colleague who absolutely loves this place.

The restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese house, giving it a modern yet nostalgic atmosphere. The flavors seem to be slightly adapted for Japanese tastes—mild and delicate—just the way I like it.

It's a fantastic Chinese restaurant in Akasaka. The building is a renovated old detached house secretly standing in a middle of a hill. The foods they serve are all made nearly and their lunch meal lit comes with soup, two small appetizers, and dessert. The tea they offer is also delicious. 【味付けが良いんだよね〜】

赤坂で午前中の打ち合わせがあり、おっ、この時間なら並ばずに入れると友人と2人で11時15分に店の前に到着。店はまだ開いてなくて、10分待つと店が開き一番乗り。 しかし11時45分にはほぼ満席、と、相変わらずの人気店。 実は前回来てから6年ぶり、とめちゃくちゃ間が空いている。

その時も食べたあんかけ焼きそばが美味しかったので、限定メニューの「海鮮と野菜の五目かた焼きそば（税込1,300円）」を僕も友人もオーダーした。 2人なので、シェアすればもう一品いけるだろうと、「辛い麻婆豆腐のかけご飯（税込1,100円）」も注文。

注文して5分で「海鮮と野菜の五目かた焼きそば」が到着。…あっ、そうだったのか…かた焼きは太めの揚げ麺だったのか…。 限定メニューではない方のメニュー表に『海鮮と野菜のあんかけ焼きそば（税込1,300円）』と言うのがあり、そちらが以前食べたやつだったらしい。 本当はそっちがオーダーしたイメージだったけれど、揚げ太麺の方も餡の味付けがしっかりしているから、ちゃんと美味しい。 海老、イカもふんだんに入り大きめの青梗菜、キクラゲ、椎茸、人参などが具材を彩る。

青梗菜への火の入れ方も抜群で、サッと軽く火を入れた程度で、シャキシャキ感がハンパない。海老もイカも固くならない程度の火入れになっていて、柔らかいながらもぷりぷり食感が味わえる素晴らしい火入れ。

その後、ほぼ『焼きそば』を食べ終わったところで、「辛い麻婆豆腐のかけご飯」が着丼。 たっぷり上にかかった麻婆豆腐の下にはご飯が潜んでいて、ご飯の量はそれほど多くはないが、美味しいバランスがとられている。

見た目よりピリッと刺激のある辛さで、クセになりそうな味。もちろん美味しい。 多分、この店は何を食べても美味しいはず。隣で天津飯を食べている人は常連さんらしい。2人で来て2人とも天津飯を頼んでいるから間違いない。

最後はデザートで「ココナッツババロア」が、運ばれてきた。普通に美味しく口直しや最後の〆としては十分に役割を担っている。

この店なら全メニュー制覇してみても良いな、と思わせる程の全体の味。次は「海鮮と野菜のおこげ（税込1,300円）」で行ってみようかな。それとも隣の人の食べている「野菜とカニ肉の天津風かけご飯（税込1,300円）にしようか、嬉...
