I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent dining experience I had at your establishment. The service was, unfortunately, far from satisfactory, and the quality of the unagi dish I ordered was subpar.
The unagi dish contained an excessive amount of bones, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. In fact, some bones were so challenging to swallow that they got stuck in my throat, creating a significant discomfort. Regrettably, I couldn't even consume the dish in its entirety.
This experience was not only unpleasant but also raises concerns about the overall quality and safety of the food served at your restaurant. I feel compelled to bring this matter to your attention, as it seems contrary to the standards one would expect from a dining establishment.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider implementing improvements in both service and food quality. Customers should feel confident in the dining experience you provide, and my recent encounter has unfortunately left me with a negative impression.
Update: The restaurant manager was sincerely apologetic and made an effort to address my concerns. I appreciate their...
Read moreOn my final night in Japan, I really wanted unagi. After trying to go to 2 different michelin rated unagi places in Tokyo and being sold out, I was hellbent on finding some unagi for dinner. I was able to find Unatetsu based on Yelp reviews and gave it a shot.
After waiting about 20 minutes for a seat, I finally got a spot and it happened to be right up at the bar. They didn't have an English menu but the server spoke some English. I ordered the unagi don (unagi over rice), but wish I understand the menu as there were some tasty looking dishes that others were ordering. I was brought a daikon salad and some edamame as an appetizer.
It took about 20 minutes for the food to come out, but that was expected as unagi takes a while to prepare. I had waited patiently all day to have this dish so I dug in hoping to finally satisfy my cravings, but it didn't quite hit the spot that I was hoping for. The texture wasn't quite as soft and silky as I was expecting and the sauce was a little bit too light for me. Overall, it lulled my cravings but didn't quite...
Read moreWe visited Unatetsu in Tokyo as a family of four, my partner and I along with my parents. It was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had in the city.
Even if the word “eel” might scare some people off, I have never had better eel in my life. The flavors were incredibly rich and many of the dishes had a meaty, satisfying taste. The fish was exceptional and honestly hard to put into words.
The service was warm and friendly. Even though they were about to close, they still welcomed us in with kindness, took the time to chat with us and prepared everything with great care. The kitchen was spotless, and we could see the chef cleaning it thoroughly. The owners also spoke with us which made the experience even more memorable. The atmosphere overall was just amazing.
The drinks were excellent too, and the value for money is easily 5 out of 5. This was hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Tokyo. Highly recommended.
Greetings from Finland...
