Sandwiches and coffee to go or eat in. Typical by-the- numbers Doutour fast snack and coffee house. None of the class (?) of a Starbucks, but who needs it if you're in a hurry. An obvious location for a rendezvous — hard to miss at the Harajuku station corner-end of Omotesando dōri — the Champs-Élysées of Tokyo, now sandwiched between the world's fashion houses, but actually the front (omote) approach to pray at a shrine (sando) for Meiji Jingu. Incompetent staff, regularly getting very basic orders wrong despite stating order clearly and repeatedly. Staff turned unpleasant when the mistake was pointed out and they made it deliberately difficult to correct the order, issuing a full refund in small change, which was not what I had asked for at all. I had paid cashless too, no purse in hand to deal with their unnecessary difficulties based on their own stupid mistakes. Pretty backwards coffee shop. The Harajuku location is an extremely busy one with two floors constantly filled. The turnover, however is quick so you will eventually get a table. The desserts and coffees are delicious and in par with Starbucks. They have a small restroom on the second floor and there is usually a line. The food selection is good with sandwiches and the like.
