Sumiyaki Kadota — Restaurant in Tokyo

It’s a tourist scam. Do not go to this restaurant. I went there tonight at 11pm. They sold out of fish , it’s fine. We ordered a hotpot, two chicken wings, a small plate of beef and two coke. The hotpot only comes with 5 pieces of tiny intestines which is the size of my finger nail but loads of veggies. (Probably they sold out of meat already and just put the intestines there to scam us) There was no other meat. It’s totally different from the photos shown online. It’s a scam because when it comes to the bill, my total is more than $6600~ They overcharged us by $2000 without telling us the small appetizer edamame(which he offered us) is counted as the table fee. I know in Japan sometimes they have table fee , but usually it’s around $500-1000. However, they didn’t mention it at all!!!! It’s a tourist scam because they only give us the Japanese menu. I used google translate and there was no table fee mentioned. This is definitely a tourist trap and it’s totally unacceptable they overcharged us!!! I will report this to the Japan...

魚が美味しいと、 評判でしたし、

その数日前 開店前？休憩時？の

店舗前の メニューを拝見 していたら、

お店の男性らしき 方が後方から お声掛けくださり

良い魚を仕入れて いるので味に自信 あるとの事でした。

期待を高めつつ、

今回、二人で初めて 訪れてみました。

店舗は地下で 階段を降りるのですが

案の定、 入り口前に待ち人 多し の８人・・。

店舗に入る前に メニューを渡され、

1人ずつ 事前に 注文を受けて行きます。

注文の際には 丁寧に受け答えして もらえました。

店内も満席で 活気もあり、

事前に注文をして あるので、

着席した順から テキパキと配膳 されています。

いよいよ席へ 案内されて、

期待して料理を 待っていました。

相方に配膳され、

いよいよと期待 高まり待ちましたが、

来ません・・・

待てども まだ来ません・・

相方は私への 気遣いから

自分の注文分が 配膳されるのを 待っていたのですが 来ないので、

相方へ食事を促し 半分ほど食べても まだ来ない！？

お店側も気付いた 様子で、

厨房へ催促を している内容が

聞こえて来ますが、

今から作り 始めている様子が 伝わりましたね・・・

ちなみに厨房には 白衣の方が ４～５人いたので、

各々が作業を担当 されていても、

じゅうぶん捌けると 思いましたが。

事前に注文を受け すぐに出せるモノ、

注文が厨房に 通っていなかった 事への私に説明は ありません。

鯖の味噌煮を 注文したので、

嫌な予感も していました。

それからもしばらく待ち

当然 相方は食事を終え、

私のお腹の減りも限界で、

さすがに怒り💢も 感じ始めましたが…

怒っても料理が 美味しく感じる事には

ならないので なんとか 辛抱を続けました。

ようやく配膳され 食べてみましたが、

予感的中です。

鯖の身が硬いんです。

急いで煮付けたから でしょうね。

煮汁はお店の特長 ですから こういう味と 思えば済むのですが、

ちょっと しょっぱいのは、

急ぎ煮詰まったせいかも しれませんし、

大人げないけれども

遅く配膳され怒りも 加味されたからかも しれません・・。

This place is amazing. Their lunch menu is just different grilled fish with rice and miso soup. I can’t stress how spectacular this shop is at grilling fish. I tend to get salmon or Ginmutsu but honestly everything is great. At night I think they only do kaiseki type meals so it is a lot more expensive.
