Sushi Ei is a family run establishment where the head chef and (who I suppose) is his wife and son. The lovely couple are extremely jovial and welcoming a stark change from the cold and serious vibe of Asakusabashi.
Pricing for the food is reasonable given the location, the proximity to the chef and the quality of food. Overall despite the placing being a tiny bit cramped (this, I soon realised was not a Con, but rather a pro as it allows you to closely view the chef at work). Read moreIt’s a v cosy Japanese sushi restaurant. The chef cum owner is v friendly and the food is amazing good. The sushi are all v fresh and you all should try the Grilled sablefish marinated with miso paste. It’s the “burned fish in my picture but it’s a dish we truly enjoyed v much! The sake is also v nice & easy to drink. The place is full house after we got here. We were his first guests. Following that many customers come by but the chief is v fast in his preparation of the food.
If you are looking for a cosy place to have your lunch or dinner, I feel this place is really nice to be in. We will come back again next time...

We stumbled upon this tiny sushi restaurant and was blown away by the freshness of their sushi, with flavors that danced on our taste buds. But the real star of the show was the miso soup - rich, savory, and utterly delicious! And of course not forgetting the grilled fish that came with their fresh gingers. Supper yummy!
The restaurant itself is small and unassuming, but don't let that fool you. The chefs are skilled, the service is warm, and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. If you're a sushi lover like us, do yourself a favor and seek this place out. Five stars and a big thumbs up from me...
