The attitude of the man serving was downright unpleasant. This isn’t one of those places with “strict rules but excellent ramen”; rather, it’s run by someone clearly unsuited to hospitality, who openly badmouths customers.
I stopped by because nearby options had already closed, and the smell of broth simmering drew me in, even though I hadn’t planned to visit this place. • Broth: It tasted as though it had been properly simmered, but the flavor was completely ordinary—neither offensive nor memorable. • Pork: A thin, lacklustre slice with poor texture and taste; more of an afterthought than a topping. • Noodles: Supposedly firm, but leaning toward soft. Given the overall mediocrity of the bowl, their quality was about what you’d expect. • Seaweed: The first sheet looked normal enough, but had the unmistakable tang of unwanted fermentation. The second piece confirmed it, and I left the third untouched. • Rice: The typical free side you often find at places like this, entirely unremarkable.
The service, however, was the real problem. Just after I sat down, I heard the server mutter, “Now we can’t close the shop, can we,” clearly loud enough to be understood. Worse still, he openly mocked a departing customer (a foreign guest who had left some food but had politely said it was delicious). Sitting there, I couldn’t help but imagine the same treatment coming my way once I walked out, which left a very sour impression.
Without the poor service, one might argue that the in-house broth at least gives the shop some sort of identity. But in the Tokyo area that hardly counts as unique, and with no other redeeming qualities, I can only recommend...

Read moreThis was the best tonkotsu ramen we ate on our trip to Tokyo. Pickles and a bowl of rice are added as “service” (included with meal). Must purchase ticket first but the staff help. And I loved that they had a women/children sized bowl. Still all the toppings (including an egg with a cartoon character on it) but just the right size for me. Full sized options...
