Tanto Tanto Za Gadenzu Gotandaten — Restaurant in Tokyo

As soon as I walked in the host gave me a weird look. I asked for a table for two and the host said he had to get a table ready. I thought this was weird but then realized it was because they wanted to sit me all the way in the back corner. They did not give me plates when they gave me bread. There was stains on the tablecloth. My girlfriend who is vegetarian ordered a vegetable pizza and it had ham on it. My lasagna just wasn’t very good. The staff forgot to give us our drinks. They got our orders backwards. The staff kept giving us weird looks whenever I looked over at them. They also didn’t change our dirty utensils between courses. I had to clean them with my napkin. I am pretty sure the food was just reheated frozen food due to the speed it came out and the taste. For some reason they started moving tables away from me halfway through my meal. They changed waiters halfway through our service even though me and my girlfriend were being perfectly polite and respectful. I have 4 piercings so the bad service might have something to do with that? Overall I had a bad experience eating here. So rude it’s beyond imagination - at 10am I am told by a young male staff that the buffet is closing. At 10:01pm my wife was finishing her coffee and the remaining food, the young male staff came over and told us to “leave immediately” and “you cannot touch the food” in a very rude manner. Ridiculous and not the level of service we would expect in Japan, or anywhere in the world. We didn’t have a reservation but were warmly welcomed into the restaurant around 5pm on a Sunday. The specials board is extensive and there’s a great food menu and wine menu. We enjoyed a bottle of Chianti wine, 2 appetizers and 2 mains. The food was fresh, flavorful and great portion sizes. Service was good and we appreciated the chef’s willingness to help get all the crab meat out of the crab leg!
