Came to try the nasi lemak out of curiosity and without high expectation, because iykyk. Anyway, the restaurant is very small with only 1 table for 4 and 4 tables for 2. Service is very slow so be prepared to wait a long time to be served, because they only have a teeny weeny space as a kitchen with only 1 staff to cook. They had 2 wall photos, 1 of it of a low cost flat somewhere in Malaysia (I have no idea why they chose this photo) and another photo of a fruit stall with a bunch of durians which is taken in Thai! I was lmao because that is not a photo of Malaysia and I guess none of the staff realize this which is a big shame. I have attached a photo so please feel free to zoom in and you can see the Thai alphabets. Don't get me wrong, I love Thailand. But you're doing business serving and promoting Malaysian food, so do it right! I have peanut allergy so I asked the waiter to remove them. She came back asking if it was an allergy. I said no. That's fine. Came back again showing me a packet of Brahim's rendang packet and explaining to me about the ingredients and possible contamination. Bruh, Brahim's instant rendang? For real?! I have mentioned I didn't have high expectations, but now I am already disappointed before actually tasting the food! Roflmfao. Sambal wasn't spicy at all, rice didn't have enough santan, rendang was dry. The ikan bilis wasn't ikan bilis but I think it's the Japanese niboshi. At least they got it right with the cucumber by not using Japanese cucumber. Karipap wasn't your regular karipap angin so I guess this was good. Their sirap bandung had a cherry on top. Where did that come from? Never in my life did I ever have sirap bandung with cherry. The drinks were served in a small metal plate? Never in my life did I ever have my drinks served that way anywhere in Malaysia. As a Malaysian, I would say, save your money and craving and go to Malaysia to have the real authentic nasi lemak. Don't have...
Read moreWe are a family of 4 (two adults, two kids). We came here on a Saturday morning.
I waited in line at 8:59 and got in at 9:57. Practically an hour wait, because we wanted to sit together. We were offered if we’d like to sit separately, in which case we could have been sat about 5 minutes earlier. There was a sign at the table to keep your meal to within 90 minutes during busy periods.
Food arrived quickly: the first plate arrived within 5 minutes of us sitting down.
🍽️ Turkish Breakfast: we were especially excited to have menemen and borek. If you’ve tried the real deal in Turkey or any Turkish breakfast place in Europe, you will probably be disappointed like us. If your tastebuds have not been spoiled by authentic Turkish food, this is a good place for “exploring new cultures” as other reviews mentioned.
🍽️ Taiwanese Breakfast: the purple rice fantwan was tasty (the youtiao inside could have been fresher). The soy milk soup (shen doujiang) was excellent. Dan bing (egg cake) had cheese which was a surprise twist. Overall, I won’t be sad to have this meal again, which is reminiscent of our month in Taipei in February.
🍨 Churros: good fresh churros, good chocolate sauce.
🥤 Turkish coffee and Limonata were the surprise hits! Both were excellent.
Our empty plates were cleared promptly. We were out by 10:26 as per the receipt. We spent 30 mins in the store.
While waiting outside, we saw customers who sat around chatting after their meal (their empty dishes weren’t cleared promptly) despite the queue outside extending to the end of the block. Maybe they had not reached their 90 mins.
Not sure what the customs is in Japan for sitting around while other people are standing in line outside. In my country, that’s called...
Read moreCould never recommend a place like this! With only a couple of seats (12 if I’m not mistaken), we were left to wait for over 1 h just because the empty tables would take up to 20min to clean before someone else could occupy them. The only person working the room was very slow, and between serving the few customers sitting down, and the clear priority given to takeaway companies, everyone else waiting standing outside could wait… Food was not outstanding, and only 10min after ordering did they tell us pancakes were sold out, with few alternatives. At 11am, on an “all day breakfast” place open until 8pm, all but 2 of the 4 menus were available for ordering. If you google the menu you might think more options exist, but in this location only English, American, Finnish and the Taiwan version. We tried the American, standard, with dull pancakes, the Finnish that lacked flavour on everything that came on the plate, and the taiwanese egg roll, that we had no idea had ham and cheese on the inside, since it’s not stated in the menu. If this wasn’t enough to avoid this chain forever, the price was around 70€ for 4 people. Quality and especially service didn’t justify the price, in a country where food is pretty affordable and people are usually methodic and nice. As a final note, noone understood english, but this is already...
