Honestly, it was average in many ways. We got there at 11am when they opened, and were 2nd to order. The wagyu beef bowl was the better of the two items we had, the other was the cheeseburger.
To start, the wagyu they use comes as a big commercially vacuum packed frozen package, so not as fresh as advertised. The buns are a bulk commercial package. The margarine for the buns is a big cheap grocery store tub, not an actual butter product. Kitchen prep area is filthy. Watched the guy refill a wholegrain mustard squirt bottle that was really crusty on the outside without any kind of wipedown. The pickles are ¥100 store sliced up with a days od dirty knife. Remember, we were there at opening. Mind you, I'm not a clean freak and I generally like a good, filthy ramen joint, but this was filth that crept into the dishes being prepared, not around it.
Wife ordered rare bowl, guy first in line wanted his medium. Watching them being made showed that the process was exactly the same, yielding the exact same level of rareness, so why bother asking?
Tourists will love the English, but that doesn't save the world's most bland and overcooked fries. The rice for the bowl was "off", several days old and semi stale.
The Our Story book had great sentiment and reflects the things I've experienced with "American Wagyu" and other nonexistent marketing gimmicks.
The wagyu bowl was good, the meat is as others have said, very tender and very tasty; a really nice crust from the flattop it was cooked on. After slicing it's placed in a cabinet toaster to remove some of the "redness" of the slices. The sauce used was good and the egg yolk was very fresh.
The burger was a good, almost smashburger style affair, two patties, two pieces of kinda plastic "cheddar", three sauces, lettuce, pickle (they were tasty BTW), and a thick cut slice of ripe tomato that was really good. It was actually a pretty good burger, but there was zero discernable wagyu flavor showing through all of the toppings. The steakburger was likely the better choice.
Sitting at the counter showed that the staff is huge on the touristy points, but lacked on the preparation part alot.
It was an interesting way to spend ¥19,500 for a very average meal. There's a dozen places within a 5 block radius that would have yielded a better wagyu experience.
It also serves as a reminder that most foods with a significant backstory don't live up to the hype, nor do those rated highly by TripAdvisor.

Read moreThis restaurant has two branches in Ginza, I went to the other branch and I had a good meal and a wonderful experience so I decided to eat from the restaurant again but at this location instead. Unfortunately my experience at this branch was absolutely appalling. I was greeted nicely and I placed my order for two burgers and I wish hadn’t.
The lady that was responsible for preparing the burgers got burnt by some oil splash on her forearm as she was placing the meat on the grill. It was very clear she was in pain and she absolutely couldn’t focus on preparing the food. I watched my burger patties get burnt and crisped up right in front of my very eyes for a whole 10 minutes as she was trying to prepare the burgers for another order then she took some time off to attend to her burns while the burgers were still on the grill until the other cook noticed and removed them. They were far beyond the point of being edible as its smash patties crisped up for a whole 10 minutes, yet they still decided to serve them anyways. Not only that but after they were removed from the grill they still sat down on the side getting cold as she was preparing the next order. When she finally got time to get back to the burgers again and prepare them (it had been 20 minutes already since they started cooking) they were served to other people who came after me. I notified the waiter that its actually my order although after having seen what happened to it I kinda didn’t want to eat it but I also didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes as I was hungry and haven’t eaten anything all day long. The burgers were absolutely cold, disgusting and burnt, nowhere near as good as when I had it the first time at the other branch.
I do believe that they are capable of serving good food and I understand that my experience was probably just unfortunate as I felt bad for the lady who got burnt and I didn’t want to cause trouble. I just wish they had better quality and service standards where they wouldn’t serve such food given what happened to it but it seemed like they absolutely don’t care.
On a side note: the other location also had unlimited drink refills while this one doesn’t and its the same menu with the dame prices so it doesn’t make any sense. I really suggest visiting the other branch in terms of food and service experience. As for atmosphere the other branch is underground so it was a tad more depressing but it was...
Read moreOkay first of all this place claims to have the best wagyu and #1 and whatever. Don’t get me wrong the WAGYU was good. BUT THE SERVICE??? I paid 18,000.. or 121$.. AND WAITED AN HOUR!!? and I swear it’s not worth it. JUST HEAR ME OUT. Firstly I asked for the burger to have no onions TWICE. What to I get? Onions in my burger. SECONDLY. I ordered a spicy ramen set that comes with rice and a drink. And a burger set too. I GET THE RAMEN AND BURGER ONLY!! with the complimentary water. But still. BURGER ONLY AND RAMEN AND A SIDE OF RICE FOR THE RAMEN. Mind you we were 2 people. 2!!! For 121$??? And no coke no extra set thingies. AND WAIT TIME? 1 hour. 1 whole hour maybe more. AND THE RAMEN? HALF COOKED. The fries from the burger? Not even cooked right. A toddler could serve better. I have never written such a critical response. But this definitely tops it all. songs choice was bad too but I ain’t gonna make a fuss about it cus why? (They played “I just wanna be part of...
