Love this chain of buckwheat noodles in both hot and cold broth.

Inexpensive and very close to my hotel, open 24 hours. User friendly for non Japanese.

There's a menu posted on the outside glass window with photos, English description of each dish and number. Also English instruction on how to order.

Once you walk thru the door there are vending machines with Japanese Only on each number pad. However if you remember your dish number and how much you just insert either the right amount or bigger bill, machine will change for you. Then pick you dish number and voilà, it spits out your ticket which you hand to the cook behind the counter and in minutes your dish is on a tray. No conversation necessary.

Food is good, restaurant is small so not so recommended for big groups. We were a group of 10 and it became quite chaotic placing an order and looking for seats for all of us. There’s a bar with stools and a bar where you’ll have to stand. You’ll place your order first in the vending machine (cash only) and queue up by the counter to give your ticket. Food is served pretty fast, but the old man behind the counter was quite rude. But we may have stressed him out also because of our big group. This is a chain in Tokyo if not all over japan. Always wanted to try it. Well now we know. We won't be going back. It's not expensive but the quality is really low. Totally underwhelming. And in Japan where so many places are awesome it's just a total waste to eat in such a lousy place. The soba was served in less than a minute and was not even al dente. We ordered the ¥450 牛肉 soba... that's beef. There is a small toilet at the back of this outlet. They allowed our 20m toddler. No other customers when we visited on a Sunday night...
