Important: I am an American with zero Japanese language skills! (I look for reviews like this to help me)
We went here while passing through the neighborhood from the station to our hotel. There was a short line (5 guys) in front of us, but it moved in about 20 minutes. There is an English menu; however, you won’t need one because there are about 3 choices on the menu. There are also a couple of staff members who speak pretty good English. We went with the cheapest (¥980) and were overloaded with a piled up rice bowl, soup, tea, and 6 or 7 different tempura fish and veggies all cooked fresh in front of you. Plenty of food! So much that I had to help my wife finish a couple things. Our total was just shy of ¥2000 which can’t be beat for the amount of food and the shop’s location. Payment is CASH ONLY, so make sure you go with what you need. The nearest ATM is at the Family Mart around the corner, so no big deal.
Fantastic place to eat, and I’ll probably be heading back at least once before I go home.
Hope this helps...
Read moreI came here from the main store, and the queue for this store was the same! I left and went back for a second round because the lunchtime rush was no joke. Still, an hour of queuing after lunch hours (around 3pm).
As soon as I'm seated, they served this interesting black bean tea that had a unique and calming flavour. I believe every meal also comes with a bowl of very delicious clam soup.
I got the regular tendon. Condiments are free to eat on the table, and I was so addicted to the marinated squid. However, the tempura was not crispy enough in my opinion, and the sauce wasn't that outstanding.
Overall, the food was decent, and the price was reasonable. But considering the long queue, I would think twice before visiting again. I loved the clam...
Read moreSo far the best tempura I had, surprisingly at the affordable price (set will cost you 1000-1500JPY and it is filling enough, a beer is 600JPY). With very good service they deliver freshly prepared gorgeous bites of sea-food, fish, mushrooms and vegetables and their onsen tamago in tempura is just divine! English menu available, staff is describing what to eat with what and how for those not familiar with this type of food. But still this is not a place packed with tourists. It is packed well nevertheless as the locals queue outside waiting for the next free slot. Do the same, it is worth it and if you do not want to stay outside to much choose the time based on popularity chart in Google as it seems to be...
