Tiny Toria Tearoom — Restaurant in Tokyo

Awesome place with a totally British feel to it. Interiors might be a little OTT on the cute side but that's Japan. Other than that, large selection of British tea to choose from, though the cake selection seems a little on the short side. They seem to have a massive kitchen area compared to customer seating which is a bit strange, seems to be no more than 7 or 8 tables, not sure if the reason is because of covid social distancing.

Wanted the afternoon tea set to see how things are but was told need to order in advance which was a shame. Ordered the crumpet lunch set but instead of crumpet, exchanged with scones. Scones were served hot which was a welcome change and was excellent. Not sure where the clotted cream was from but was OK, not brilliant. I have been wandering in search of the ideal ‘scone’ for years now. Today was my first visit here. I wondered whether I should order the scone and cake set, but I ordered the crumpet lunch set just because it is a limited set. It was like the English muffins, but very chunky. The other salads, sausages, and sunny side up as the side dishes were very well balanced and went nicely at the end. What is worth mentioning is their service. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with, smiling, friendly, and likable. I have not had their scones yet because I decided to take them home (all the varieties sold today and the clotted cream as well), but they look very promising!
