Tsukuda STEAK HOUSE — Restaurant in Tokyo

Our family of 7 including 4 adults and 3 kids aged 12,10 and 7 visited for a special dinner whilst travelling to Tokyo. It was a great choice, no regrets. None of us can speak Japanese so we had booked ahead using a concierge service. We didn’t have any problems with communication throughout our evening. There are 8 seats in the restaurant and we had the place to ourselves.

We received a warm welcome and impeccable yet relaxed hospitality from the chef and his wife. We felt comfortable and enjoyed watching Chef expertly and calmly prepare his creations.

The food was delicious with wonderful taste of each individual item on the plate (we had the Tsubaki menu). Chef definitely has some serious skills in bringing out the flavours and textures of his ingredients, which seemed to have so much more taste compared to usual. We savoured every dish - there was nothing that was not enjoyable. The highlight of course was the beef, which Chef could tell us all about the origin of, but the other dishes were no less impressive.

The kids were well looked after and were even given thoughtful gifts such as traditional toys. Adults were also given small tokens - I don’t know if this is usual, we were told it was a Christmas present!

Great food, great vibe, great staff. The couple that runs the place is very kind. It’s probably not best to go if you don’t have someone in your group that knows Japanese, BUT the couple is very nice and patient and accommodating.

Needless to say, the food was great. You think it’s not going to be worth it until it just keeps going and going. It’s easily worth the price and a great spot for a date or group. What a great experience! I came with my girlfriend and her mother and it was such great personal service. The chef You could tell has a lot of experience. The steak was the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s that melt in your mouth kind!to die for. Everything down to the vegetables were spot on. 10/10...
