Very bad experience at this restaurant. We went for lunch and specifically asked if any of the ramens could be made without any chilli / not spicy. They reassured us yes, but when the food came out it had chilli oil in. They offered to remake without, but it came out again still with chilli oil (just minus the saffron this time). I told them it was still spicy and I couldn’t eat it, which they insisted it wasn’t. They then ignored us, not looking for any solution, or suggesting anything else I’d be able to eat instead, leaving me without anything for lunch.
When the bill came it still included the dish I was unable to eat, and when we politely asked for it to be removed, as I wasn’t able to eat it, they refused. I’m more than happy to pay for a dish I ordered if I just didn’t eat it because I didn’t like it - that would be my fault - but I wouldn’t never have ordered if I knew they couldn’t make the food without it being spicy / containing chilli, which is why I double checked before ordering and they assured me it wouldn’t be.
Several times the chef’s story changed. He insisted at first that the oil wasn’t in it, then that it wasn’t spicy (it is the red oil in bottles on the table, which my husband tasted separately, and confirmed is indeed quite spicy), then that it was actually the seasoning in the meat so it couldn’t be removed or made without.
I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for anyone with allergies or who can’t eat any ingredients, as they clearly are unaware / uncaring about what goes into their dishes, and happy to lie and blindly insist you’re wrong. The staff were rude, uncaring and borderline dangerous for having such a disrespect for ingredients people cannot eat. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t even be confident that the vegetarian dishes are in fact vegetarian safe etc. and really recommend people eat elsewhere. Do not...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at "Halal Wagyu Ramen"
I visited "Halal Wagyu Ramen" yesterday with my family, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The ramen was overly salty and lacked the depth of flavor you’d expect from a proper bowl of wagyu ramen. In fact, it didn’t taste like authentic wagyu ramen at all.
What made things worse was the staff's careless attitude. When I politely expressed our concerns about the taste and explained why we couldn't even finish half of our lunch, they showed little to no interest in our feedback. That kind of service is unacceptable, especially when you're charging premium prices.
Speaking of which — the prices were quite high compared to other ramen restaurants of similar standard, and certainly not justified given the poor taste and lack of customer service.
I do not recommend "Halal Wagyu Ramen." If you're looking for authentic Halal ramen in Japan, I suggest doing some research and finding a place where the food is genuinely well-prepared and the staff values...
Read moreI sympathize with the fact that it must be difficult to find halal ramen spots in Tokyo (as someone who only eats vegetarian ramen), but there’s no way this deserves a 4.8 star rating. I got the vegetarian ramen set, which was supposed to come with veggie gyoza, and instead they brought out tiny fried wontons (super dry and lacking filling) and still charged the same price. The ramen itself was so salty, it actually burned my mouth. I couldn’t eat any of the broth and had to pour water into the soup to make it even semi-edible. Would not recommend, worst food experience in Japan. Service was fast and that was the...
