This restaurant inside Tokyo National Museum requires museum admission to access, making it essentially a captive audience situation. As practically the only dining option within the national park complex, it naturally draws crowds of hungry museum-goers throughout the day. The food quality is decent but nothing exceptional - think standard museum café fare rather than a culinary destination.
Given the inevitable crowds and waiting times, I'd strongly recommend eating before entering the museum or planning your visit around off-peak meal hours. While it's convenient when you're already inside and don't want to leave the grounds, the combination of average food and long waits makes it more of a necessity than a pleasure. If you're planning a full day at the museum, consider packing snacks or timing your visit to avoid the lunch rush. It serves its purpose, but don't expect a memorable dining experience to complement your cultural...

Read moreVery expensive and not worth the money. The chicken was especially expensive, and came as a part of built in deal that included tea/coffe, rice/bread and a “chocolate cake” that was basically 3 tiny chocolate pieces (that were very dry). They brought out the check with the tea at right when we finished our last bite, even though we had not asked for the check and weren’t there for long (about helf an hour). Beside the food issues, the restaurant is built with nice big windows, but for some reason the curtains were all closed which was unpleasant. We did however appreciate the vegetarian menu, as we had trouble finding vegetarian...
