Adding my review from the English Google review of the store
This was one of the WORST dining experiences I've had in my entire life!
Honestly, you'd think bad customer service will often be redeemed by the quality of the dishes. However, this is FAR FROM THAT! Funnily enough, looking around the restaurant - I saw a number of distraught and confused customers (including locals) who just wanted to get out after being served.
I'll start with the customer service. The lady outside seemed to have better manners than the serving staff. They would literally throw the dishes and menus onto your table. You would think staff would also clear your table of empty dishes as they are SERVING.. but nope. Let's just leave it there until there's no room left. Like what??
Quality of food: Since it was a BUFFET, we ordered various dishes. But the highlights would have to be: Chicken feet: these chickens must've been done no walking in their lifetime because they were TINY! Not only that.. the taste was very bland, and had a very odd aftertaste. I hope those chickens did not die in vain. Cucumber salad: No flavour again, but it's like the chef just drenched in the cucumbers in oil. Peking duck: I wouldn't even bother with ordering this one unless you're ready for disappointment. One tiny piece of duck - served cold. I got more flavour from the Hoisin sauce itself.
It was a very memorable experience that I had to find the English name of the store to share this day with everyone. If you happen to go try it yourself,...
Read moreAt dinner time, I was hungry and entered the restaurant. I didn't know which restaurant to enter. I was stopped by a lady at the restaurant I went to this restaurant, Mankinro.
We took the elevator to the 5th floor. We were seated at a table.
The menu is either a la carte or all-you-can-eat. I wanted to eat a variety of food, so I chose the all-you-can-eat option. Actually, I didn't know how much to order. I was nervous until the first item came out. After seeing the amount of food that came out, I was convinced that I could go for several items. The price for adults was 1,980 yen, with a small discount for elementary school students.
Ordering on a tablet I ordered one after another.
*Szechuan bean curd Shrimp chili Wok-fried crab with garlic flavor Corn soup Shark's fin noodle soup Stir-fried chicken and nuts Wok-fried chicken and nuts Stir-fried pork leg Wok-fried abalone with XO sauce Steamed scallops with garlic Shark's fin soup in a small package Fried crab claws Tenshinhan Stewed pork belly Steamed rice with shark's fin (I forgot to take a picture)
The quantity of each all-you-can-eat dish is moderate and the taste is normal?I guess. (There was only one item) Tenshinhan with red bean paste and shrimp paste was ketchup flavored!
Finish with mango pudding and...
Read moreI ate here a few months ago. The price was attractive for the amount of variety you get.. but the food quality was very bad. Most of the food tasted cold and some dishes tasted bland. The congee did not taste like congee.. and was slimy and weird. When we were looking at the menu at the front of the restaurant, a lady came out was very friendly explaining the menu to us, and we got convinced to go in to try. Once we sat down, service was completely changed. The server did not bring us cups or utensils, we had to ask. We could not read Japanese and was not aware that there was extra charge to the drink station. When we questioned about the total amount on the bill, the lady spoke in Chinese to another staff there and looked really upset and annoyed and did not explain to us. Then, a nice young male worker voluntarily came over to explain to us where the extra charges came from, which I really appreciated. The ladies just needed to explain what the charges are for, and shouldn't need to be rude about it. The one star is for that nice male server who was kind enough to...
