BAO Noodles-Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Almaty

Ate here for our late dinner after we arrived from the airport since it is only 5mins away from where we are staying, and still open until 12mn. Such a great place with cozy atmosphere and friendly staff!

We ordered Kuksi, Shoyu Ramen, Chicken Tepanyaki Rice, and Crab Tartar Roll. Wow, everything was delicious. We were served first with Crab Tartar Roll, and we immediately fell in love with the burst of flavors. Shoyu Ramen has that hot umami flavor broth, perfect for the -10 degrees weather. As for Kuksi, we ordered the warm version but I think it is better served cold. Very flavorful because of the variety of ingredients with like a sweet and sour broth. The Chicken Tepanyaki Rice is also good with its slight kick of spiciness to balanced out our full meal.

Oh and they also gave us free steamed buns! Soft and warm, perfect for the -10 degrees weather.

Thank you for our first lovely dining experience in Almaty! The price was worth it for the food...

We ordered delivery from here a few times and generally pleased. Korean cold kuksi soup is delicious, just a perfect level of sour notes. Bao burgers are very tasty, but keep in mind that they are very small, hence the price, so there is a chance you need more than one. I'm glad to see poke bowls gaining popularity in Almaty. Maybe scoops of toppings aren't that big, and a variety of sauces would be great, but was rather a letdown for me is that it feels like they preassemble them when prepping for a day and don't put them together right when an order was placed, at least that the impression I've got. I might be wrong, though. As I mentioned before, local ramens are pretty weak in flavor, and Bao Noodles is no exception. However, the chicken one was pretty well balanced and left a good impression. I also recommend trying mango & passion fruit lemonade. It is very addictive. All in all, it is a great place, and I recommend...

Value for money, enough choice in Asian noodle with dishes from Korea, China, Japan and Indonesia. In essence simple Dishes but we’ll prepared. With Asian food ( in this part of the world) there is a risk of it becoming bland, this place is an exception and the dish had a good variety of mushroom, chicken, bean, vegetable etc, with a punch....
