Garden Square by Ashaki along City Hall Way is one of those classic Nairobi CBD gems that has stood the test of time. The location is perfect — right in the heart of town, a stone’s throw from City Hall and KICC, making it a go-to spot for lunch breaks, business meetups, or just catching up with friends before heading back into the madness of town. The place has a relaxed outdoor vibe with plenty of seating and shade, so you don’t feel boxed in like many other CBD eateries. The menu is diverse — from Kenyan staples like nyama choma, ugali, and tilapia, to lighter meals and drinks if you just want something quick. Portions are generous, and the prices are fair considering the central location. Service is generally quick even when the place gets busy, and the staff are friendly. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab a proper meal without having to squeeze into tiny cafés or wait forever. Bonus: the open-air setting makes it feel less hectic despite being right in the CBD. Overall, Garden Square by Ashaki is a great mix of convenience, tasty food, and good vibes — a reliable stop in the city centre whether you’re on a work break, meeting friends, or simply recharging before tackling Nairobi’s traffic.

This establishment has undergone a remarkable transformation, resulting in a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. Situated in the heart of the CBD, it offers an exceptional culinary experience. The menu boasts an impressive selection of delectable dishes, including Nyama choma, stews, and bone soup, catering to various occasions such as business lunches, dinners, and special events. The well-appointed bar features an extensive selection of beverages, ensuring a delightful experience for all guests. I highly recommend this establishment for evening dates, family gatherings, business meetings, and even graduation celebrations.

It has been three years here now.. The air is perfect and location is great but the interior is now really outdated. For more customers I suggest a complete makeover with the interior and the chairs which I can gladly do

The food is very basic nothing exciting. Food takes long literally a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour before you can make your food. The food portion is very small and quite expensive. Their drinks were not up to standards specifically the fruit cocktail and virgin mojito. In my virgin mojito the glass was almost three quarter filled with ice cubes and the rest is mojito. Their service still needs a lot of improvement, there's a lot of confusion with their attendees. We made a call earlier before visiting and they lied about several things in their menu. I...
