Who remembers the Java House pre-pandemic? I guess my review here is just a review of all Java Houses... It's not bad, it's just... Ok... Pre-pandemic, Java used to a phenomenal experience with extraordinary prepared food. Now, despite the higher prices, even the coffee itself has taken a nosedive in quality and is not standardised, so you're never really certain what you get even when ordering the same thing from different Java chains. I have no complains when it comes to the service and the staff, actually, just that I feel like there is room for improvement. For example, it wouldn't hurt if a member of the staff dropped by the table mid-meal to ask if everything is ok and you're enjoying your meal. It's so hard to catch the attention of an attendant that sometimes you just give up on ordering. Anyway, there used to be a certain magic with Java (their atmosphere, service and food). Read moreIt had been years since I visited this location, like over 10 years. There were some nice changes, but the cofee remains the same - great. Stopped in for Saturday breakfast. The food reminded me of yummy brunch back home in Houston. And the service was great!
I had an omelette with potatoes and toast with a side of guacamole for the toast. Everything was delicious!
I started out sitting downstairs which offers a nice quite place away from the coming and going of the street. Later I moved upstairs because I need to make use of a power outlet. Upstairs is great for those who enjoy people watching or the bustle...

This place is pretty popular and you find yourself struggling to hear your table mate, at times you are forced to raise your voice a little... But hey. That's the whole point of eating out, right?? We had one order returned but they didn't give problems- the apple juice was a little too dilute. It felt watery more than juicy. They however opted to give an alternative for free which, I feel, compensates for that. They are willing to listen. Oh, did I mention they had no WiFi... I guess it was...
