Java House - Phoenix — Restaurant in Nairobi

My wife and I cannot say enough about this Java House (and the two other locations we dined at several times in Nairobi). The service is spectacular - friendly and prompt. The variety and quality of food is better that of many name brand full-service restaurants. Portions are huge. The burgers come on toasted kaiser rolls and the patty stretches from edge to edge. Even the Nashville hot chicken comes in a huge breaded portion with salad and sides, and tastes as good as you get back here in Nashville, TN. Another surprise, the Mexican fajitas are not bad at all! Mexican food. In Kenya. Better than many North American Tex-Mex joints! We ate at many restaurants in Nairobi, but we just had to get our Java House fix every other day. It gets crowded in the evenings, especially if you want a table outside on the balcony. Located about 40 metres from 680 hotel, this Java is the ideal hideout for a private conversation over breakfast or lunch. It is quite clean with a warm team of staff members with the exception of a huge fellow who behaves like a body builder and has quite a nasty attitude. The serving was abit slow on the upper section of the place. It's a good place for a work meeting or just hanging out with friends.
