We were recommended Haandi by a friend, as we only had one night in Nairobi and wanted to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine somewhere special. It turned out to be a wonderful choice. The ambience was charming, the staff were very friendly, and they happily guided us with recommendations from the menu.

For starters, we tried a unique fried pastry dish filled with spiced vegetables, which we’d never come across before and really enjoyed. For the main course, we had grilled fish, a chicken curry, and garlic naan — all of which were excellent and full of flavour. For dessert, I ordered gulab jamun with ice cream. While it wasn’t the best gulab jamun I’ve had, the overall meal — particularly the starter and mains — was splendid.
