🥩 Restaurant Review: Sierra Brasserie, Yaya Centre – My Forever Steak Spot! 🍷✨

If you know me well, then you know where to find me when I’m craving the perfect steak. Sierra Brasserie, 3rd floor Yaya Centre, Kilimani — this is THE place. 🔥 I’ve probably been here more than 20 times with my wife, kids, sisters, mum — it’s a family affair every time. And why? Two words: Angus Ribeye 😮‍💨🙌

➡️ Cooked to absolute perfection — every single time. Whether I ask for medium-rare (my go-to) or my wife’s preference of medium-to-well, the chef nails it without fail. 🎯 Not once have they gotten it wrong. Respect to that grill master! 👨🏽‍🍳🔥

🍔 The Wagyu burger? Juicy. Rich. Deeply satisfying. 🐔 Chicken wings, Szechuan squid, duck, basil salad, rump steak — tried them all, loved them all. Sierra has never dropped the ball. ✅

🍷 The wine list is small but mighty — always hits the right notes with my palate. ✨ Ambience? Cozy, classy, and intimate — a little dim for those IG photo moments 📸, but perfect for date nights, quiet family dinners, or just spoiling yourself.

💡 Pro tip: You can chill at the cocktail bar on the 2nd floor while you wait for your table. Stylish, calm vibes — perfect for a pre-dinner sip 🍸🥂

🚗 Parking? Secure and reliable, though it’s paid (about $0.50/hr). 🙋🏽‍♂️ The staff? Friendly, informed, and always accommodating.

🔻 My only mini-rant — that Covid-style hand wash basin at the entrance is giving 2020 vibes 🚿😅, and the washrooms could definitely use a facelift 🛠️. Let the décor match the food! Also… please bring back the mushroom sides — I still dream about them 🍄😭

But all in all? 💯 Sierra Brasserie is a steak lover’s haven. I’ve kept coming. I’ll keep coming. Loyal for life. ❤️🥩

I recently visited Sierra Brasserie for a special occasion, but unfortunately, my experience was terrible. While the ambiance was cosy and inviting, the service was neither prompt nor courteous. When we tried to order a glass of red wine with my meal, we was informed that they had run out of red wine by glass and could only offer white wine instead. While I understand that restaurants can run out of certain items, I was disappointed that they did not have any alternatives for red wine drinkers by the glass. They insisted that we order a full bottle or as an alternative offered a couple of white wine options by the glass, but they were not my preferred choice for pairing with steak. We decided to leave the restaurant to go elsewhere. To make matters worse, when we asked to speak to the manager about our experience, we found him to be unhelpful and unsympathetic to our concerns. It's a shame because Sierra Brasserie used to have excellent service and was my favourite steak restaurant, but the lack of service and unhelpful management really put a damper on the occasion.
