This place was a bit hard for us to find but I’m so glad we didn’t give up 🥰

We ended up going around Day2night (there’s a narrow and dark alley on the left side of it, you should go straight and then turn right) but we later found out that it should be possible to get to Dam Dam through a back gate of Wat Chanthaboury.

If you have some time to slow down and enjoy some delicious hand-brewed specialty coffee, this is the place. I have rarely experienced such an intimate coffee making/tasting session, even back in Europe this would’ve been special.

It was heartwarming to meet someone so passionate about coffee and it was nice to be reminded how good coffee can taste after having drunk so many dark, sugary and milky coffees in SE Asia (salted coffee from Vietnam rules though haha ✌🏼). We ended up trying two different AeroPress brews (50k each).

I hope David gets to inspire more people and that Dam Dam will soon be more easily accessible, perhaps from the courtyard of that yellow MAG UXO Visitor Information Centre...

It is one of the best places that I visited in Vientiane. I found this coffee shop on Google Maps, which is behind MAG UXO Visitor Information Center. You should follow the little path next to the Indian restaurant named Nazim to reach the shop.

The owner David is a warm and friendly person who likes talking to his customers. After walking in Vientiane a lot it was a good idea to have a speciality coffee at Dam Dam. David prepares every cup of coffee meticulously. He mentioned about a coffee making competition he participated in. The coffee that he prepared tasted mild and was nice to drink.

David is a very passionate brewista, that mean you can only have different kind of drip coffee here (v60, chemex, Aeropress, Kalita wave, ceramic filter and French press)

He can not only make you a very good coffee (we are talking about speciality coffee here!), he will also talk about how he got it. Sometime from some local roasted but also some directly from the farmers.

The place is just fantastic, you are sitting on the terrasse just in front of the Mekong. There is no better place for a good coffee.

Here no hypster coffee, no Espresso, no milk. Just amazing drip coffee. And like David like to say :...

A community cafe made with passion and love. Decor is full of art and retro vibe. You can see various mixed but harmonious elements, which I believe is worth 1M USD😁 David shared ideas for the design and future of the cafe, which reminded me of some foreign coffee shops I had visited. In the end, they all became local cultural landmarks. I believe that with his passion and hard work, he will also succeed someday. Oh, to make it short, the hand drip coffee is delicious🤣
