This place was a bit hard for us to find but I’m so glad we didn’t give up 🥰
We ended up going around Day2night (there’s a narrow and dark alley on the left side of it, you should go straight and then turn right) but we later found out that it should be possible to get to Dam Dam through a back gate of Wat Chanthaboury.
If you have some time to slow down and enjoy some delicious hand-brewed specialty coffee, this is the place. I have rarely experienced such an intimate coffee making/tasting session, even back in Europe this would’ve been special.
It was heartwarming to meet someone so passionate about coffee and it was nice to be reminded how good coffee can taste after having drunk so many dark, sugary and milky coffees in SE Asia (salted coffee from Vietnam rules though haha ✌🏼). We ended up trying two different AeroPress brews (50k each).
I hope David gets to inspire more people and that Dam Dam will soon be more easily accessible, perhaps from the courtyard of that yellow MAG UXO Visitor Information Centre...

The owner David is a warm and friendly person who likes talking to his customers. After walking in Vientiane a lot it was a good idea to have a speciality coffee at Dam Dam. David prepares every cup of coffee meticulously. He mentioned about a coffee making competition he participated in. The coffee that he prepared tasted mild and was nice to drink.

He can not only make you a very good coffee (we are talking about speciality coffee here!), he will also talk about how he got it. Sometime from some local roasted but also some directly from the farmers.
The place is just fantastic, you are sitting on the terrasse just in front of the Mekong. There is no better place for a good coffee.
