The day we landed at Vientiane and stepped out of our hotel to check out restaurants nearby and we saw them grilling outside their restaurant and it instantly felt attractive. We dined 4 times at this restaurant basically all the days we were at Vientiane a meal at this restaurant made it to the itinerary. It's run by a family and they are extremely catering and sweet overall reflecting Laotian culture. They have both outside and Air con seating. Pricing is perfect to the portions. Grilled chicken, grilled pork, lao sausages, chicken larb, fried rice, etc everything at this place is extremely well made and served. One of the days they offered us complementary mango post our meal which we enjoyed too. Our favourite restaurant on our trip to Laos, cherishing both the meals...
Read morei gave it 4 because for it is vegetarian friendly with several options. not sure if it is traditional Laotian because i am not Lao, but it appears to gather mostly Lao persons at the restaurant and the restaurant also has a food stand on the street next to it that serves some of the same food. Food was good and served quick, staff friendly... you can even bring your dog to take a nap.. the only con and why i did not give it 5, which the food and service was, was because the ambience was of minimal effort making it feel like nothing special and the bathrooms were not the cleanest. i was originally looking for Makphet, of which i spent an hour only to find it not there and had closed temporarily. goo location and interesting to people watch...
Read moreTypically rare to find freshly grilled meat in Laos. Usually pre-cooked from the day before that didn’t sell (or at least I’d hope just one day old). They skimp on the meat from the pork ribs. When you order, it’s taken out back to cut where a lot of the meat is skimped off nearly to the bone. Twice this has happened. The pork larb is flavorless. Larb is a pretty tough dish to eff up. This place effs it up quite well. The fried Chinese greens I got were too old and the stems had tough fibers. 140,000LAK total which may not seem a lot for foreigners. But it’s expensive for the lack in quality of food. I don’t recommend this place. There are better places to eat Lao cuisine...
