Brussels Mussels — Restaurant in Vilnius

Food just not worth the cost - £99.00 for 3 starters to share & 2 mains + 250ml 1 bottle of Pepsi & 1 bottle of water.

Didn’t mind to pay this amount for a good quality freshly cooked food, but it was far from freshly prepped / cooked.

Just going to leave it here for your consideration before you’ll visit this place. See below.

Prawns starter - overcooked, tough and rubbery. Tuna tartar - tasty but nothing wow. Deep fried sliced baby calamari - tasteless, oily, with pot of mayo on the side. Grilled octopus - pre-boiled to a rubber consistency, thrown onto the grill (my guess) for a 30 seconds or so, swimming in the oily sauce amongst with under- cooked 3/4 baby potatoes & cold cherry tomatoes. Pork Ribs - just pure fat, hardly any meat on the bones.

Usually, at the end of the meal, presenting a bill to a customer, the waiter/waitress out of courtesy asks “How was your meal? Did you enjoyed your food?” etc. There must’ve been a reason we weren’t even asked that question, and without making any fuss we just...

It was absolutely horrible

We chose this place for dinner with friends, as we had been here many times before and liked everything. But today the waiter behaved extremely disrespectfully, was rude and «made faces», couldn’t advise on the menu, then he refused to split our bill. When we asked to bring a glass of water, he replied that we could only order a bottle of water, but when asked why, he did not answer. (And no, we didn’t occupy a large table asking for a free glass of water - we placed an order for ~300 euros) For several hours he constantly communicated with us in a passive-aggressive manner, and we’re waiting for the bill for about half an hour, and they brought it to us only after talking with the administrator. We have been regular customers of this restaurant for quite a long time, as it is located close to work, but we will not come here again. Food was okay, beer not so good, service terrible. Waitress with shoulder length dark hair acted in an unhelpful/patronising/rude way, e.g. ridiculing me when I tried to pick a selection of beers or asked her about the size of the portion of mussels. When I accidentally dropped a spoon on the floor she flatly ignored me not offering to bring a new one (I had to ask another member of staff for help). When we were brought a check to pay (we asked to pay separately), she flatly told us to calculate our own amounts. Later, after I paid for my share, she walked away without asking if I needed my payment receipt. The TV on the wall for some reason was showing a tourist video about Amsterdam - is this supposed to be a Belgian bar? :-) I've lived next door to Belgium and been to Belgium many times, and it seems only prices are 'Belgian' at this place; the rest deeper down is unfortunately simply old-school post-soviet...
