Decided to drop by a sushi spot after having so much heavy food today. The interior was really nice but the music was a weird club/lounge vibe that didn’t really match.
Our server was prompt and we didn’t have any issues with the service.
We each got a tuna poke bowl and a Hamachi Royal roll to share. The taste of the poke bowl was good but you can tell that there wasn’t finesse in some of the prep - there were some tuna cubes that weren’t fully cut and stuck together.
The roll was okay, there wasn’t much hamachi for the price and it was mainly rice and the shrimp tempura.
They brought out 3 homemade sauces which was an interesting concept. The ponzu sauce wasn’t bad, their soya sauce was very underwhelming and you could barely even taste it with the rolls, when it’s usually supposed to elevate the flavours. I think they should stick to a more traditional saltier soya sauce flavour.
Overall, the portion sizes were much too small for the price; would’ve given 4 stars overall if there...
Read morefirst off, the food wasn't bad. however the ambiance, presentation and pricing suggests luxury. (for some reason nigiri are much more expensive than anything else, and 2x as expensive if you get a set instead?)
took me a while to figure out how exactly to describe whats wrong here: it tries too hard to fit into an image of a high-end restaurant, but only via cargo cult.
there is a big obsession with home-made wasabi, different sauces, and putting sauces and kaviar on everything. evidently its impossible to just order plain sushi with normal soy sauce - you have to get some set that invariably is slathered in sauce or kaviars, while the salmon itself is farmed and fatty.
very overengineered place that tries too hard to be fancy. they should simplify the menu and focus on basics, instead of engaging in over-the-top creativity which defeats the purpose of a "sushi master" in...
Read moreIf I could I would leave no stars. It’s NYE, we have preordered food for 6pm for delivery. At 7.30pm we have arrived to the restaurant to see where our festive dinner is, as restaurants phone was off the hook. Restaurant was FULL of people waiting for a pick ups + about 10 Wolt drivers outside. Everyone’s angry and annoyed. Staff frazzled and stressed. No proper communication just eyebrows raised and snarky comments passed - can you not see we are busy? All understandable, it’s the most busiest night of the year, but if place would not be driven by pure greed, orders would off been stopped day before as in other establishments. Customer service is dreadful, not even a water or tea offered to customers, just facial expressions that we are here to annoy them. Completely unfair on chefs, working in mental conditions because of the management...
