Thank you for your kind and defensive reactions. It appears you are more Doctor than Doctors ourselves to advocate on medical and food poisoning.
It's either u have issue on your English or adamantly to be defensive with our first review below.
We had our finished our dinner almost 12hours after and we had terrible food poisoning, knowingly it crystal clear it was after KK Garden that we bunch of Doctors being charged MYR300++ to get sick.
Definitely we have checked our facts and details. It's timely that you attend to your hygiene and housekeeping issues. Else there will be dozens more that perhaps writing to you without any star ratings.
Because we are helping both the community and your outlet to improve so that we can harmonize between you making money and we can have good food.
For now, your outlet has shortchanged us. And we will advising the community the same unless you prefer to be continuously defensive. Good day sir!
Part I. I have been to Sabah and KK since the 90s.
KK Garden Seafood is a place that I must rate and remind the rest of the reader to consider not going or dining in.
We spent more than MYR300++ for dinner, and it has been wrong from the start.
The atmosphere was unhygienic, the seafood is low of quality, and what u selected perhaps may not what u will get on your table.
Our wet butter prawn was of prawn, which was not fresh. The oyster is of low quality, and we ended up with terrible food poisoning the same night after dining there.
You may want to go to those others' seafood outlets, sadly not KK Garden Seafood. I'd wish I had read the earlier review to save me and the rest from stomach flu and poisoning.
Yes, service was bad due to the language barrier. The cooking is so disappointing of method and quality. Plus, the washroom was not well maintained, too.
Seafood in KK is good. However, not this outlet and my critique are based on this...

KK Garden Seafood in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, offers an enticing seafood experience that won't strain your wallet. Sabah's reputation for top-notch seafood holds true here, providing excellent value for money.
Upon entering, we were greeted by an impressive showcase of live seafood in aquarium tanks, featuring tiger prawns, various fish, crabs, and oysters - a balanced selection that catered to our budget.
For those new to Malaysian live seafood dining, fret not about your budget. You can opt for frozen seafood by simply informing the staff, which offers high-quality options at a more affordable price.
We relished prawns (not live), prepared in a delectable buttery style. Deep-fried to crispy perfection with spices and eggs, they were remarkably fresh and satisfying.
A giant oyster from the tank, priced at around RM 10 each, was a steal but came with a somewhat chewy texture. This reminded us that larger shellfish in Malaysia may lack the desired tenderness.
The true star of the meal was the live crabs from the tank, prepared in a chili style. Their succulent, flavorful meat left us craving more.
We also sampled a large pomfret (not live) cooked sweet and sour, a must-try with its crispy batter and flavorful sauce. The fried squid (not live) was expertly cooked – crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside.
Our seafood feast was accompanied by perfectly paired fried vegetables and egg-fried rice, with the fried rice boasting that sought-after wok hei flavor.
Efficient service, with attentive waitstaff offering cooking suggestions, and a clean, bright ambiance that allowed us to enjoy our meal without any surprises, rounded out our experience at KK Garden Seafood. It's the go-to spot in Kota Kinabalu for affordable, quality seafood, ensuring you can savor the flavors of Sabah without...
Read moreFirst of all, the seafood is fresh. They have live aquarium and plenty of seafood to choose from. They also have frozen selection. So, no doubt regarding the freshness. The food are all delicious especially the butter lobster. So worth it. The ambiance is quite nice, restaurant is spacious, they provide prayer room which is well maintained. And the toilet is clean. The only downside is the service. We came on weekday evening with group of 9 adults and 3 kids. The waitress made unpleasent facial expression and gestures when we asked questions. She seems in hurry though we are the only large group who was there at that time, got few couples and that was it. The restaurant not packed at all to be honest. So ive wondered why she was giving us cold shoulder. When we first came, she was sitting casually at the table while chatting with her friend. So its obvious its her attutide towards us ans it still hovering in our mind and heart till this day. We dont expect to be served like a king but we came far just to enjoy the food only to be greeted like this. But i must compliment the male worker who incharge of the aquarium. He was super attentive, always giving recommendation and so patient with us. Thank you so much.
Overall, with the price i think its worth to try if you visit KK. Put aside the service, i means that is personal matter that owner needs to take note. The serving for me is quite fast. Do come to try their seafood. 10/10...
