H2 Segama Backpackers — Hotel in Borneo

We enjoyed our stay at this nice hostel with its interesting sleeping arrangements in individual pods; complete with wall sockets, a reading light, couple of hooks, a privacy curtain and a locker below. ||Facilities are good and breakfast is simple, easy and tasty. Loved the water cooler in the kitchen area. |Wifi is excellent and location is great. A minor downside is the aircon which comes on at 7pm and turns off at 8am which is fine if you are out all day, if not the rooms get warm very quickly. ||Staff are very friendly and helpful, answering our many questions and organising transport etc. You can do your laundry there for very cheap as well. ||The hostel is quite small and so therefore means there is nowhere really to socialise and meet other travellers. But they offer plenty of tours and activities where you most certainly will...

H2 backpackers is well situated on Segama Jln Tun Razak. Sort of in the middle so you can reach lots of places on foot. And there are lots of street food nearby and the night market is close as well. H2 is one of those cube hostels where you sleep in a "hole in the wall". Personally I like that very much as it offers more privacy than a normal hostel bed. Each cube has a reading light and power plug. Also, you get a towel and a quilt at no extra charge. The AC is doing a decent job. The amenities are clean and functional. Much better than the usual standard of Asian hostels. It says in the description that they offer breakfast. Well, a toast with jam and a cuppa is below the standard you get at many other hostels in Asia. On the other hand, they have cooking facilities so you could do your own breakfast (lunch/ dinner).
