I was sitting at the new lane hawker open area and suddenly rained, hence ran over to shaded place and fame across outside of this store that having a vacant table and order their dessert.
P.S: before moved from the open area to there, my friends and i already ordered dessert drinks from other seller.
When the staff greeted us for order, we politely ordered 1 dessert and 1 mineral water as we understand we should order again as we sit on their table. But after the dessert and water were served, the owner came and told us we are not allowed to bring other dessert here as they sell dessert (clash of interest) and ask us to sit somewhere else, however we already ordered their beverages and it arrived anyway, would we able to bring his dessert and sit somewhere as per his suggestion? Which we would be facing the same situation where no outside beverage is allowed.
Understand from his business POV however it was raining time and we had no where to move with the drinks and food that we haven’t finish. If it’s not allowed, how come the staff did not tell us from the beginning? Then we wouldn’t be sitting there and order.
Also, the way the owner telling us were in a rude way and inconsiderate which makes the whole situation even more awkward. I would suggest that he educates his staffs before speak to customers and also his way of service should be improve.
Other than that, the dessert actually not bad but the mood was dampened and we just quickly ate and left. Also we still ended up paying him the dessert and mineral water which he treated his customers with that...
Read moreWe chance upon this place after our dinner. My son recommended a night eatery street near our hotel and we decided to take a look.
There are about 20 stalls lining both sides of the street and some of the shops are still open at about 9pm. As the weather was quite humid we decided to pop into an air condition place for dessert.
The store has basic deco and the tables and chairs are there to serve it's purpose. The wait staffs are prompt and friendly. The menu is lay on each table and you just have to order through the staff.
The Osmanthus Soup with 汤圆 is quite basic, nothing much to shout about. The Bak Kee Soup is quite big for dessert but my boy decided to give it a go. We had to help him finish. The Honeydew Sago and Orh-Nee is also quite basic. I suppose the taste is as expected. However, the plus side is that the shop is air condition and there were tables available when we were there.
We ate, rested and went back to our hotel...
Read moreThe worst restaurant ever with the worst owner. It was raining. My friend and I were eating at the open space hawker. We saw a table and we sat down. The waiter came and wants us to order something from the restaurant. We quickly realised that we need to order some item from this shop because we were sitting at their “outdoor” table. After we order from their menu. The owner suddenly came out and shouted at us and demand us to move the restaurant beside. Hey?! You can tell us nicely that your waiter didnt tell us about your “rules” in your restaurant and we will not pay for your food we order and move to the restaurant beside. No wonder the whole restaurant is empty. Bad attitude restaurant owner. What a...
