Horrible customer service. Last dish came after half an hour after everyone finished their food. Our bill was close to RM300 at the shop as we ordered the most expensive items on the menu, and yet was scolded horribly multiple times for bringing in food from outside to let our overseas guests to try a bit of penang local food after dinner. We proceeded to clean up after ourselves and yet was scolded terribly and was not hospitable at all. If we knew outside food is STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED, we would not have brought in even the tiniest snack. Just a polite notice or reminder would suffice to bring the message across for no outside food allowed. We don't deserve to be reprimanded and humiliated so heavily in front of other patrons and our overseas guests. We have been patroning this shop for years and this is how they treat their regular customers. Is this how we show overseas guests...

Osmanthus HK Desserts House Cafe is a nice dining place located at new lane tourist spot. Its air conditioned and clean place, good to sit down, relax and have some desert. It brings a good "homecook" vibe for the environment and interior design.

The food is good, average taste. The highlight is their dessert which is quite good. We have been here twice, the first time we meet the boss here. He is a friendly guy and chat with us quite a while.

Overall the price is at expensive side, compare to other similar restaurant or dessert house. But this is expected because this is a tourist area. Their ordering system is the 'scan qr to order' which might be harder for old ppl without phone or data connection.

Overall a nice place to chill and have dessert, while overlooking tourist at new lane through...

We were in for a shock as the Tong shui dessert are not freshly prepared for the day but mostly refrigerated and prepacked in a tens of plastic tub displayed in cold storage. They're ever ready for takeaway or microwaved for in-house consumption.. Traditionally prepared Tong sui, these are not..

The peanut cream dessert (fa sang wo) lacks the aromatic flavour of the roasted peanuts, perhaps from inadequate roasting...

Yam paste (or nee) was bland and lack the flavour of the good quality fragrant yam. It wasn't served hot enough so by the time we were down to half, the serving plate and paste had gone cold..

Owner needs to be mindful in the quality of the ingredients they use and put more effort in cooking process to enhance flavours to...

Love this place for desserts that are made on ordering, not precooked and standing for hours to be re-heated or thawed. The people are also very nice. Acoustics could be better as it’s noisy with chatter bouncing off hard walls. But I guess it does add to the charm. Went back 2 days later to try their ala carte mains. Had a decent fish congee ( with chunks of grouper) and claypot pork with salted fish. Finished with Creamy Ball tang yuan (sesame only) in favourite soy ginger soup and Teochew Orh Nee (sweet mashed yam/taro paste). The Orh Nee is nice minus the pork lard which would have made it too rich and heavy. Perhaps better without the crushed nuts - not typical of the dish and unnecessary. The Tang Yuan was good as always.

This shop is a rare gem ~ they prepare the walnut paste, peanut paste & almond paste from scratch. I ordered both the walnut paste & yam paste, they are heavenly authentic & superbly flavorful. Every mouth full is mere gratification arising from the genuine nutrient of the walnut & yam. Not starchy but pure original goodness. Their mango pomelo is also an artistic creation. Balanced with just the mango sweetness & goodness. I wish they would persist in upholding such impeccable standard in the traditional delights. Such deserve the support from all the connoisseurs who value quality & authenticity🙏🏻will surely come by again whenever I’m in Georgetown👍🏻
