I got all excited when I saw 3 different chocolate museums pop up as tourist attractions in George Town. I was recommended by a lady friend to go to the Chocolate & Coffee Museum. Before I went I read reviews about it and some reviewers gave negative reviews and suggested Beryl’s instead. After visiting the two, I have to agree with those negative reviews and found that Beryl’s “museum” has a far more comprehensive history on chocolate and displays of actual artifacts. I skipped visiting the third ‘museum.’
Beryl’s chocolate is made on site in their small manufacturing kitchen (and they supply product to the Chocolate & Coffee Museum).
My opinion, I really enjoyed my visit to Beryl’s, I chatted with the staff and the pricing is much better. I had free samples and found Beryl’s chocolate tasted better than what I received at the other place and purchased my chocolate treats here.
My opinion, give the other places a pass. Beryl’s chocolate museum/history is better, their products are cheaper and it is...
Read moreI was a fans of Beryl’s chocolate (but now I am not). On 10 Sept 2023, I brought my family’s and brother back from China to Beryl’s Chocolate Story Outlet at Penang Love Lane, to buy some souvenirs back to China.
My 5 years old daughter suddenly want to pass motion, said was rushed. My wife asked the shop attendant politely for the toilet, she replied NO TOILET in the shop! In fact the TOILET IS there!! When I questioned the staff why can’t let kid in such urgent request to use the toilet, the staff responded to me arrogantly it’s their management direction not to let customer use the toilet!! If this is true, I think this shop is really inhuman.
Apart from expressing my dissatisfaction with the incident I wish to draw Beryl’s Chocolate management attention, your unhelpful staff attitude is disappointing, unpleasant and immoral, causing bad images to...
Read moreFriendly staffs, no customers around when we visited, even the cafe was empty, but I can see why. Their cake display fridge was empty except for the top shelf, with 4 or 5 cakes only. Cafe doesn’t have any coffee smell. People can’t tell there is a cafe if they walk pass the entrance, cause the view is blocked. I know there is a cafe inside cause I searched online beforehand. Had planned to stop for coffee and some snacks/cakes but didn’t cause not in the mood seeing it so empty.
We bought some chocolate snacks, it’s tourist price so can’t complain. There is a museum/gallery on the second level, and a chocolate throne at the end of it. Not far from where I’m staying so I dropped by to get gifts for friends and relatives, if not, not a place I would...
