Went to Daily Dose just wandering around for food. I had just arrived in George Town and had no cash on me and they accepted contactless tap. The atmosphere inside is very relaxed, lovely deco and interior with beautiful plants and calm music. Really enjoyed that they had no wifi as well which is rare these days so I got to just listen to the music and enjoy my food. I think it would have been better if I brought a book though since I was alone but otherwise loved the no wifi rule.
Food was yummy and bigger than I expected which was good. It came pretty fast as well all things considered. I got the 'Perfect Brekkie' which was good. The yogurt wasn't as much as I thought there would be but its okay. The eggs were yummy and not dry which I appreciated and the toast was spot on. Don't know what they did to the mushrooms but the flavor was very good. I didn't have a coffee there so can't comment on the drinks. The staff were kind and especially when I went to pay. I had misheard the minimum price for card payments but the woman at the register was kind enough to take my payment anyway so that was really appreciated.
Overall nice place and would go again for sure. Would recommend bringing a book or something to do if you're like me and go alone and have no internet anyways...
Read moreMy first visit to this café will also be my last. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
While I understand that this is a pet-friendly establishment, the hygiene and disinfection standards were not up to par. The moment we sat on the wooden seats, we were bitten by a flea. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, they responded as if it were a normal occurrence and only wiped the tables with a cloth, no further action was taken.
The food was equally underwhelming. Their so-called signature bread was extremely hard, almost like chewing on carpet. The pork sausage was overly elastic and difficult to cut, even with a knife. The coffee portion was also disappointing, served in a cup that wasn’t even filled to a proper level.
The environment was also uncomfortably hot, particularly in the toilet area, which felt like a sauna. More concerning was the lack of privacy: the toilet door had significant gaps, and the door itself was unusually short. Anyone tall enough or simply holding up a phone could easily see inside. This design is both impractical and insecure. I strongly advise against using...
Read moreI would have given this cute little place 4 stars. But just on my way out I wanted to put my unfinished coffee into a take away cup and she told me I should finish it now as there is just a small amount left. My Grab was outside so I wanted to take it with me. When she gave me the cup she told me that I had wasted one of her takeaway cups by taking my coffee away.
It’s such a shame because it is a cute place and the food was fresh and tasty although quite limited but that encounter really made me feel bad. I mean take away coffee cups are part of the coffee service aren’t they?
I wouldn’t come here again because I don’t really want to be told what to do or be made to feel bad when I request something that I am paying for - I wouldn’t have even minded if they had charged me extra for the cup! I just don’t want to be spoken to badly because I make a standard request in a restaurant!
You should really be emphasizing customer satisfaction not making them feel bad...
