We went back to the restaurant for a second time (consecutive night) to try out the rest of the dishes. We have the 3eggs dish which is tangy tasting/appetising, longbeans with chai po (mediocre), samba prawns, lor ba, nasa Ulam and spring rolls. Maybe it is case of diminishing marginal returns, the dishes are all nice but no wow factor! The 3 star rating here is due to one major flaw. Bubur chacha as a dessert is not part of their menu but we requested for it when we made the reservation to return for a second time. We were surprised when the restaurant readily agreed to do so. Unfortunately it turned out to be quite a disaster - the sweet potato and taro were all undercooked - meaning they are hard and awful and the coconut milk was diluted. It was a total let down. Expensive price to pay for bad dessert at RM 15.90 each - OUCH! One feedback to Blue Bellvine is not to take on special request if they believe they don't do it well or don't have to time to prepare. While the customer may be disappointed, the good memories of the other delicious dishes will prevail. Now, unfortunately, I will always remember this bad dessert prepared by a well...
Read moreIf you're looking for an authentic taste of Nyonya cuisine, look no further then Blue Bellvine. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to the streets of Penang with the restaurant's charming decor and welcoming atmosphere.
But it's the food that really steals the show. The menu is filled with classic Nyonya dishes, all prepared with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The grouper otak-otak with crackers, signature loh bak, is a must-try starter. And the mains are just as impressive. The Ikan Gulai Asam , is a standout dish that is both hearty and flavorful.
But what really sets this restaurant apart is the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of each dish. The colors and textures of each plate are carefully thought out, making every meal a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.
The service is also top-notch, with knowledgeable staff who are happy to guide you through the menu and make recommendations based on your preferences.
Overall, Blue bellvine is a true gem for anyone looking to experience the vibrant flavors of Nyonya cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly...
Read moreWe enjoyed the dinner sufficiently to return for another one. That said, we have some feedback to provide - The steamed otah coupled with the crackers while nice, is not the best combo. Steamed otah tends to be wet and this does not really go well with crackers. In fact, it is sogginess in the mouth when we eat them The pulut hitam as a dessert is definitely over-priced. Perhaps because the dried longans added jacked up the price. But the longans do not enhance the taste much and so it is not necessary. Perhaps it is better to forgo the longans and bring down the price. The lemongrass fried chicken is a tad too oily. If I compare to Japanese’s karaage, this is way too oily compared to a similar fried chicken dish. Otherwise the dining experience was enjoyable and the Ju Hu char was good as is the sambal fish. Pig stomach soup was nice but not...
