Overall, the food was commendably good but the service at this outlet was one of the worst ever experienced in recent years.

Our reservation was at 12pm and we arrived on time. Our dining experience started well with drinks and Yee Sang being served within the fist 10 minutes from our arrival.

Things went downhill after the Yee Sang. As we waited for our following dishes to be served, we noticed more patrons coming in. We waited patiently for at least 30 minutes before we went on to enquire on when the following dishes we ordered would be served. 1 hour after the 1st dish, and after twice enquiry from us, only the 2nd and 3rd main course dishes were served to our table along with white rice. . The same pattern was repeated in the next hour with long intervals before another one or two dishes were served. This went on until the last dish that came well after 2.00pm.

The service staff were not well trained. While we understand it was full house and peak period, on several instances, the waiters brought insufficient utensils to our table. We were appalled to find that they were reluctant to serve us when we pointed out that we needed help from them to complete the furnishing of utensils ie bowls and chopsticks, etc.to our table. On certain instances, we had to help ourselves by taking or clearing the table of empty plates on the the lazy Susan.

The Chief Coordinator/ Captain also came across as very defensive when we approached him to enquire about when would our next dish be served and during our enquiry if additional top-up dishes to our orders could be made.

The commendable food was unfortunately blighted by the grossly inefficient service from their kitchen and poor front-of-house...

Been here for years and this is the first time in my life encounter rotten fish (on the belly)! We ate from the head and tails , that’s why at the very end we only discover the problem. even though they deep fried the fish but still can’t cover the taste of rotten fish!

We inform the cashier, but all we got from her : is it? Really? And then walk towards the table have a glance on the fish, the face reaction is like seeing how much we left and guess what we were up to. No update from her or any explanation not further action. They never QC but walked away from the scene.

This incident killed our appetite, and we proceed to make payment. Still nothing from her, and we pay full price for the rotten fish we got .

I m not sure if this restaurant acknowledge that how serious it could be by serving this kind of food and it might by affect the consumers. This is not the first time I order This dish and usually I order red snapper which cost more than 100. As a fan of this particular restaurant, I’m deeply disappointed…. It because of the price and the amount I paid, but it’s the quality assurance and after service. Shame on the lady who handle this, I know it’s not your fault , somehow you re the only local who represent the restaurant, you chose to walk away from the...

I was recommended this place for a good zhu char place in the island so I visited and I ordered their dry pot (mix of pork ribs and prawns), stir fried cabbage, dong po pork and claypot tofu. The dong po pork tasted quite good. The richness of the sauce and its strong savoury profile go well with the pork meat. I also love how the sauce has an appetising vinegary taste which balances off the sweetness and saltiness. I only wished the lean meat cuts were more tender. The stir fried cabbage was also a delight. Crunchy cabbage bits with again strong flavor and seasoning. The claypot tofu was what you would expect from a typically good place with the tofu heavily drenched in thick luscious sauce with minced meat. As for the dry mix pot, it was a pretty good dish. The pork ribs were well marinated with their seasoning and sauce. Similar to the dong po pork however, some of the pork pieces were simply too chewy. The prices were reasonable in my opinion. Having said all that, I find this place to be a rather good option for ordering Chinese dishes but the heavy, salty and spicy flavor profile may be too overpowering for...

Came here due to the high review but was rather disappointed, only 2 out of 7 items we ordered stood out. The spicy frog and century egg porridge was a home run for us, especially the spicy frog. The 菜脯蛋 is so sweet I felt like I was eating dessert instead of a savoury dish, the vegetable was so oily it actually took a lot of effort for me to bite, because it kept slipping out of my mouth, the century egg dish, tasted like a 30 years old dish, it felt like it was something that was left on the table for that long before serving to us. The fried squid had a coating so thick that it looked like the drag queen we met before we came in, and the squid was tough I think my teeth chipped while bitting. Forgot what pork dish we ordered but that was okay. At least it didn’t left an impression. Overall I don’t recommend trying, unless you wanna spoilt your day.
