There is limited parking just after the shop. The entry road is small and signage can be missed. Drive slowly and you won't miss it. It's limited so it depends on your luck.
The seating place has non uniformed (in size, shape, material and colour) tables and chairs. I found them a little jarring but I guess it does have it's own charm. Anyway, I am here for the food and not for an ID discussion.
Coming to the food, they are served piping hot, be careful of your tongue is my advise. I came early therefore my hokkien prawn soup was fresh, tasty and heavily deliciously flavored. It's definitely one of the best tasting hokkien mee out here.
As far as the Loh Mee is concerned, I like the consistency (not too starchy), however I found the taste a little mild. The mee itself is delicious though. However, when compared to the hokkien mee, I think that the winner is clear.
Having said that, the best is still a combo of both. Hokkien Lor mee. If you have to choose, rather than a pure choice, a mix here is definitely the better choice. The braised taste of the loh mee soup with the spicy light prawny hokkien mee somehow combines ridiculously well to give you a flavour that you don't get by eating it...
Read moreThe soup taste super delicious ! The thickness of the soup is just nice , yet rich in flavor . I finished the whole bowl including the soup 😂
I am not a big fan of prawn mee, but this is definitely in my revisit list.
We spent RM25 today, inclusive of the drinks. Pricing close to Klang Valley’s standard.
The stall is well ventilated with fans, so it was not too hot even under current dry weather.
This Michelin’s Bib Gourmand awarded stall has mix of tourists and locals customers there, also lots of take aways. When we reached around 10:15am, they are finishing the business for the day, we were lucky to be one of the few last orders of the day . The turnover is quite fast , we waited less than 20 minutes to have our food being served.
08/02/2024 Today visit is really disappointing. A big question mark pop into my mind, wonder if the stall/chef still the same . The soup has become much diluted, the shrimps are not fresh, even the eggs doesn’t...

The Hokkien noodle dish is popular amongst Penangites, with different versions of the soup base. Some possess strong punches of umami from the prawns, while some are overwhelmingly thick with stock from pork ribs.
This stall has been selling Hokkien noodle since 1961, previously at the closed-down Sia Boey market. It is now operated by the third-generation grandson. The prawn broth is clear, light, yet flavourful. I believe it is the taste of Kochabi for many locals. Unfortunately, the chilli paste (free flow self-service) and the fried shallots (commercial pack) were not complementing the bowl.
They are also selling braised noodles, aka Loh Mee. The garlic/vinegar paste is also free flow...
