If you are looking for a place that serves truly fresh seafood, CHU CHA 1FT is worth visiting. The highlight here is definitely the big, fresh crab paired with their special duck egg sauce. The crab meat is sweet, firm, and generous in portion, while the sauce adds a rich, savory flavor that makes it stand out compared to other seafood restaurants I’ve tried.
Another dish available is the Nyonya fish. While it’s a decent option with a nice balance of sour and spicy notes, I wouldn’t consider it the first must-order item. If it’s your first visit, I recommend focusing on the crab dishes before exploring others on the menu.
What makes CHU CHA 1FT even more memorable is the warm hospitality. The lady boss was genuinely friendly and attentive. During my visit, she surprised me by serving free peanuts as a snack and even offered a complimentary 100 Plus drink. That small gesture made the dining experience feel more personal and welcoming.
The restaurant itself is simple but comfortable, and the food feels like it’s made with care rather than rushed. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and freshness of the crab.
Overall, if you enjoy seafood—especially crab—this is a great spot to try. I would happily return for the crab with duck egg sauce and the...
Read moreHmm, hard to rate.. because one of us had a somewhat enjoyable experience and the other did not.
So I'll give my review.
Auntie was very nice and recommended the nyonya fish. Their specialty. We did not take it.
I got the tofu clay pot (braised vegetable w tofu). Rice is additional. (I'm pretty sure it's not cooked in a clay pot but a wok and presented in a clay pot)
I ordered this because on the menu, it's vegetarian "so I thought." It ended up coming with surprise white chicken. (Could be a cultural thing. Veg, carb, protien) I picked it out and enjoyed the sauce and tofu.
However, when the Ying Yong hor fun came out. It was burned. Plated w sauce covering the whole dish. When asked if we want egg. Didn't know that was an additional charge... the whole dish.. It's not really tasty. Everything, including the chicken, was bland. (No taste).
We also received drinks with ice. But the drinks were warm w some ice cubes that melted right away. So drinking luke warm drinks... maybe that's why they offered hot?
It was a very strange experience. I hope all the...
Read moreFood wise, top notch. Very home style cooking. Excellent crabs. But I felt a little cheated when I paid the bill. The crab was listed as 1 for 65 bucks, 3 for 160. So we ordered 3 crabs. The lady told me it can be cook 2 different ways, so I had them cook in kam heong and bee hoon crab. If the price is going to be individually charged, I feel that they have to let customers know. I was actually charged RM65 for the bee hoon, and RM130 for kam heong crabs. Please make it clear to customers the next time. I don’t mind paying but I don’t like such surprises at the end. If you tell me in advance I would be fine. However the food itself and quality is good. I will still be back next time but will order cautiously.
Price of crab went up this time. About 20 bucks extra from the last time. We ordered so many dishes, the owner even gave us...
