Food Garage — Restaurant in George Town

Waiting time was really long. I ordered a Nasi Goreng Biasa to go on a Tuesday night and waited at least 30 minutes for it. Noticed another lady who was there earlier than me actually got her food (also takeaway) later than I did. And we were both waiting at the seats directly opposite the counter where the kitchen brings the freshly cooked food, so they definitely didn't forget us. I suspect the long waiting time is the reason why this place was pretty full when I was there.

The food is so-so, nothing to shout about. People probably come here just cos it's close to their accommodation. Some of the neighbouring food shops aren't open so there aren't that many choices in walking distance.

Prices on the Malay menu start from RM 6, e.g. for the nasi Goreng Biasa, char koeg teow biasa, ayam Goreng kunyit. Some of the fancier dishes with extra egg and chicken goes up to RM 20 or more. There's also a western menu but I didn't take a look at that.

The shop is on the main road. There are limited parking spots directly outside the shop. Cleanliness is decent enough, though there were some annoying bugs flying around in the air. Music...

First of all, it is stated in Google that it opens at 5pm. We arrived at 5.45 pm and were told that they would open at 6 pm and have to wait to place an order. Then, about 6.10 pm, we need to call the waiter to make an order (mind you, the waiter is just chilling around, and no other customer has been there yet).

While there was no other customer, it took more than 30 minutes to finish cooking, just for us to get the wrong order. We ordered Nasi goreng chicken chop and only got chicken chop. So, I have to wait another 10 minutes.

And the food was bland. Nasi goreng was tasteless. The tom yum i think is okay but nothing extraordinary.

Overall, you can come here if you're really hungry and have no other choice around and dont mind waiting less than an hour. Oh, and the parking, if you're lucky, you can get a space just beside the restaurant (though there's no legally designated...

Dissapointing experience. Came here at 6:30pm. No one attended to us. There was only another couple when we came. Had to go to the counter and was told that they were bz taking advance 40pax orders from a nearby Hotel. If u cant attend to customers becoz u r bz attending to advance orders for 40pax from that Hotel, then dont waste time opening the restaurant to other customers. Just attend to the 40pax who are coming from the nearby Hotel. Waitress was rude as if shes running a Michelin star restaurant where people are scrambling to eat here. Another waiter just couldnt be bothered to take orders. Maybe his pay is not enuf and is boycotting cuatomers. I m taking my money elsewhere. U r not the only restaurant...
