Old school restaurant located in my old neighbourhood of Pulau Tikus; brings back lots of memories of me walking to the wet market when I was a little boy when I arrived at the restaurant last evening.
The restaurant is less than 30 seconds from my old houses and has about 7 or so larger tables. It offers a range of local and yet unique dishes - we ordered based off verbal communication with the proprietor/chef and without asking the price (we paid a total of RM610 for 7 adults and 2 kids and it was cheap - there were 2 kg of crab, fish, squid, chicken, Chinese wine soup, vegetables, tofu and vegetables). Except for some specialities that require early booking, they can adapt the ingredients of their menu dishes to suit different tastes or dietary needs. The braised sesame chicken was yummy, with lots of finely shredded ginger to add to its fragrance. We also enjoyed the fish fried in salted yolk & prawn curry, though it's more the dry curry type. Read moreA local Penang brought us to this first time last nite. I was a wonderful Dining experience . It is simple home cooked food dining with 4 tables after MCO re-opening. We tried the must try - steamed pork slice (reminisced of my grandmother cooking - simply wonderful, another must try Indonesian curry with prawn, bitter gourd with deep fried fish slices, deep fried red snapper with shredded ginger as topping and spinach soup. The food is fresh and taste is simply superb.
