Kaara Saaram Claypot Indian Restaurant Penang Georgetown — Restaurant in George Town

We walked in for lunch at 11.30 the restaurant had just opened and had no guests at all we were the first one to be served. The Manager came and took the order and when the food arrived we tasted the clay pot rice and we found we had been served chicken Claypot instead of mutton. When we called the waiter and address the issue and asked to swap to mutton the waiter went and checked and said he could only swap one and for the other one we had to pay. I mentioned that it was their fault as they got the order wrong and we never ordered chicken but they still insisted us to pay and wouldn’t swap. The mutton clay pot arrived but the meat was not cooked and the chicken was very dry. Last time we were in Penang we tasted their clay pot and it was so delicious this time the quality and taste has gone down and there was hardly any crowd. Their kizhi Barrotta was very tasty and there squid fry. I wouldn’t recommend the clay pot as it’s gone down and not like before. There were lot of dishes not available in the menu so probably they need to look at removing them as it is misleading while ordering and frustrating. Definitely the standard...

Actually I should give more than 3 stars but my experience with the restaurant through different platform has forced me to limit it. I've went there several times and I liked their service and food as well. I've heard of colleagues complaining about the quality their food when it comes to drivethru and delivery. I purposely decided to check if its trus or not and yes, what I heard was true. Today is the 1st time I wanted to order via Foodpanda, totally not satisfied. We only ordered mutton thiruvizha sappadu for 2pax, guess what. We had to buy fried chicken from Nasi Kandar as the curry came with only bones, very little amount of mutton meat sticking on the bones and so dissapointing. I wanted to give 1 star for today's experience but since we have good experience as walkin customers earlier, we do not want to give such a poor ratings. Please be fair enough to customers who order through delivery platforms too as we pay money to your restaurant, not drain water or newspaper instead. If you will not accept newspapers insteas of cash, then dont aspect the customers to accept your bones...

It’s my first time here and I must say the service is truly impressive. Unlike other places where I’d feel shy to ask for help, this restaurant made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the start. The staff were attentive, friendly, and never once hesitated to come over, even though we had a big family and had to place many orders one by one. They remained patient and kind throughout, which really stood out. Definitely a place we’d come back to not just for the food, but for the warm hospitality. 💯
