What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I went over to a "famous" spot for soup, and left underwhelmed (see previous review). A sleepless night ensued. I knew there had to be a decent sup kambing spot in town. Decent (not looking for great) because that's how low the bar is measured now. A few google clicks away and I was reading about this spot in Padang Brown Food Court. Al-Bismi Soup; the holy grail. They open from 4pm onwards till late (as I was told). Boy was I in for a treat! Not only was this sup kambing cheaper than Sup Hameed, it was HEAVENLY! This was exactly how I remembered Sup Hameed, except this wasn't Sup Hameed. Thick flavourful broth with just the right spices, piping hot! There were chunks of meat in the soup, and barely any bones. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. If I had my own Bib Gourmand, this would be on the list. Al-Bismi is currently probably my top pick for sup kambing anywhere. If mutton isn't your fancy, they also have sup ayam and sup lembu. Did I mention that the stall looked clean? Hygiene was good. I'm in love with this spot. I will definitely be back again for seconds. P.S. This would've made 5 stars, but I'm dropping 1 star because of the face masks SOP for the staff. Refer to picture below. We are still in a midst of a pandemic. The least we could do is wear a face mask properly. I rest my case.

Have been coming this place since I was a kid. Some of the stalls are still there since then, some are new. In my opinion all of them are a pretty good option for lunch or brunch. Do come at 11 am or 12 pm though, as they are only opened at that time. Another note is that some of the stalls might be closed on certain days or even time if they are sold out early. I was looking forward to the roti babi but they were closed on this day. Had the pancake, char kway teow, crab spring roll and yong Tau foo. Pancake with corn is always my go to snack in Penang. Light, fluffy pastry with the right amount of corn and cream. Goes so well with coffee. Crab spring roll is good as usual. Using only crab meat. Do request for less gravy if you do not like the wet version. Yong Tau foo is a popular item there but it moves fast. Feel free to select the readily available meat and vegetables. The seller will chop it up and put it in soup. Special note on the handmade fishballs. Springy and right amount of saltiness. Do visit if you are in Penang!

Taste good, doubtful cleanliness, priced a bit high. Brought my pregnant wife here for pasembur. Went to Ghani Pasembur due to all other places are closed at the time. The staffs tried to not show the price for their foodstuffs and kept saying just choose, will count later. Pity for people who took many prawns and crabs which costs rm10-20 each one. Parking is very limited even they charge you 80 cent, hardly there are any parking assistant in the car park. The taste: We liked the taste, as it is really the one I would expect in a good pasembur. We ordered fried noodle as well, and it also tasted good. We thought so, until we had stomachache later in the night. My wife vomited everything she ate (we only ate here that day) and I had stomachache even with my stomach that can withstand spoiled food. Suspected due to their foodstuffs are exposed or not fresh. Would not suggest to come back again.

Local penang food with variety of dishes. From Chinese, Malay and even Indian food. There is also a unique memorial that is situated in the Center of the Padang. It’s wheelchair friendly and accessible. The paid toilet is clean which has a person at the counter to collect the 20 sen entry. This place is kids friendly too, smack in the Center there is a play ground which is well maintain but limited to only 3 type. The exceptional to this place is it’s hot, no aircon just ceiling fan. Notice one row is Chinese store and opposite is Malay and Indian store and you are allowed to cross share table which is truly 1 malaysia concept. Having a mix cultures in this country this place reflect the true food paradise. The desert shop is also not to be miss. There is a few store that offer the same item but different taste to it’s style. The passombor is nice and full of variety spoiled for choices.

Good food and good prices. This is a old time favorite place for Penangnites. After many years away, I revisited it. Food stalls have changed, some new, some old. But what's really nice and surprising was the char koay teow. They have the normal portions, but for RM9 you can order the big prawn special. I recommend that ~ it comes with 4 sizeable prawns and Chinese lap cheong sausage. What makes it even tastier is the liberal speinklings of deep fried pork lard (chee yau cha). The other must-try is the Penang "poh piah" spring rolls. Still quite good. We pigged out on the Penang pancake (ban chang kuih). You can choose your fillings. We ordered ours with bananas. Delicious. Dont miss out on the local nonya kuihs. The kuih talam is especially yummy. After eating it, we bought extra to go. Great to see a memorable childhood eating spot still keeping up the standards.

very nice place to go for the pasembor at night. much cheaper than that in gurney drive and padang kota. the beef satay and the ox tail soup is a must try. a reminder, to those who think that the bread comes together with the soup and the nasi impit comes together with the satay, u r wrong. u can simply say no to them if u dont want it since they will charge u for them without u knowing it. aside from that, the people there are very friendly. as for drinks, should really try the shakes as well as the 'sirap nyok'. the lai chi kang is very nice too. for me, the mamak stall selling pasembor and mee goreng on the further left side is better. lastly is my favourite is the campur² where fried soy skins are eaten with nice 'kuah kacang' & 'sos ubi' (make sure to say "kasi garing sikit bos"). however there are other choices that u can make that suits ur own favourites
