This place has the best hainaneaw chicken! The rice is to die for - hard to resist the carbs 🤣 The chicken is freshly made, moist and juicy - with the chilli sauce - YUMMO They also have taugeh (crunchy! Yum) and braised chicken feet - another superb dish. We ordered the white cut chicken and the roast chicken - both are amazing. The herbal tea is a good drink too - homemade, taste like how mum made it We loved it so much - we came three times in a row. Our bellies are so happy with the good food cooked with love and happiness. But best of all is the service - we felt as if we had come home to mum and this is what she cooked for us. The auntie fusses over us like we are her kids. The chef, her son is super nice - he will give you choice parts of the chicken. Nothing is too much for their service- they are such lovely people who love what they do. We will be back every time we set foot in Penang. Last thing it is am old shop - nostalgic and no tourist bs. Price is super reasonable!!!
Just the best -...

They serve authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice. The chicken especially the boiled chicken was prepared to perfection, with the meat so juicy and succulent. The roasted version was equally good, meat texture was succulent beneath the roasted skin.
Service was very good and they were prompt in their serving. The shop owner even took the initiative to top up some soup for us.
This shop is now run by the 3rd generation. They used to operate for decades at the junction of Chulia Street and Rope Walk (Pintal Tali) before moving to Carnavan Street (next to Kow Low Wanton Mee)
While it does not have any fancy decor nor offer a long list of side dishes, their strength lies with their expertise of their Hainanese style chicken.
If you are looking for authentic chicken rice for yourself or for your elderly ones who are craving for the "Kochabi" , feel free to...
Read moreIve had the best Hainanese chicken rice here. I wish i lived right next to this restaurant so that i could go every day.. :)
At the first visit, i absolutely had no idea what to order (they have only one menu in different sizes. But you still get to choose between different types of chicken i think), but the uncle served the mixed plate. I just simply loved it :) Chicken, rice, chilli sauce and soup. Everything was perfect.
I visited again on the next day. Same great food. The chicken was super juicy, never eaten such juicy and tender chicken breast before and im serious. The tofu dish was on the house from the uncle. :)
And i think they are open only for lunch. I think you are safe if you go there before 13.30 ish. (Not guaranteed tho!)
I just love everything about this restaurant. They are very nice and honest people. Wish the uncle and unties stay healthy and hope to see...
